Job Description – IS Project Manager
Context
The IS Project Manager reports to the Group Business Systems Manager, and has responsibility for providing project management to Information systems projects to over 800 staff located across Devon and Cornwall. The role is key to the successful delivery of the organisation’s information systems programme.
Purpose
The role will assist in management and delivery of the Group’s IS projects portfolio, and assist the Group Business Systems Manager in the delivery of new IS projects into the group and contribute to the maintenance and development of the Group IS service to deliver key business outcomes. The role will be responsible for the delivery of all assigned projects.
The role will be expected to work closely with the Business systems team, stakeholders and users in delivery of projects into the group and work closely with all colleagues in the Group IS Service, when delivering new projects.
Key objectives:
1.Project Management
Working with the Group Business Systems Manager, provide providing project management expertise to deliver the corporate information systems programme, that deliver to the DCH strategy.
Creation and execution of project mandates, briefs, work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements, ensuring at all times that value for money and business outcomes are achieved.
Day-to-day management of the operational aspects of assigned projects and ensure delivery on-time, within budget and to agreed quality criteria, ensuring all business outcomes and value for money is achieved
Continualreview and development of project deliverables, ensuring the business sign off on all key stages and outcomes of the project.
Minimisation of exposure and risk on assigned projects and identify key areas of improvements to the Group Business Systems Manager, the ensuring key outcomes are achieved in the delivery of the assigned projects.
Ensure that adherence to the corporate project management methodology is maintained.
2.Project Accounting
Monitoring assigned project budgets and reporting any deviation to the Group Business Systems Manager and ensure value for money is achieved in the utilisation of the budget and ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for assigned projects.
3.Project communication
Facilitation of project and supplier meetings effectively, holding regular status meetings with project team ensuring the team are well informed of changes that may affect the outcomes of a project
Resolutionand/or escalation of issues and risks in a timely fashion to ensure any impacts to the project are understood and outcomes are achieved in the delivery of the projects.
Communicationof difficult/sensitive information in tactful manner, ensuring discretion is maintained in the handling of confidential information and upholding the values of the business at all times.
4.Reporting
To provide all necessary project reporting to the Group Business Systems Manager as required and to any stakeholders of the assigned project including wider communication of the benefits and outcomes to the group.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / HND or equivalent
Project management Qualification / Degree level or above in an associated field
