Modeling the Client’s World with Innovative Strategies

Abstracts Sought

Nurses and other healthcare providers interested in holistic nursing, patient and family centered care, health, and healing are invited to submit abstracts for papers, workshops or symposia (due May 15, 2015). Topics must be related to the conference theme and goals and can be 60 or 120 minutes in length. Clinical applications, case studies, research, and educational approaches are welcome. Content should be relevant to holistic nursing education, research, or practice and aligned with the holistic nursing theory of Modeling and Role-Modeling.

Guidelines for poster presentation abstracts will be found on www.mrmnursingtheory.org in the near future.

Conference Theme

This conference provides a national forum for the discussion of strategies that facilitate the understanding of the client’s worldview and provide a foundation to facilitating the client’s health, well-being, and healing. Content and discussions will center on links to the Modeling and Role-Modeling nursing theory.

Conference Goals

v  Encourage dialogue on healthcare strategies that provide an understanding of the client’s worldview

and interventions to facilitate their healing.

v  Promote greater understanding of holistic strategies and their interface with Modeling and Role-

Modeling;

v  Promote holistic theory-based, person-centered nursing and healthcare across populations through

practice, education or research.

v  Provide a forum for the dissemination of knowledge of the holistic nursing theory of Modeling and

Role-Modeling acquired through research, practice and teaching.

Submission Guidelines and Deadline

All abstracts must be submitted electronically. Go to www.mrmnursingtheory.org and follow the link to the submission form. All oral presentation abstracts are due by May 15, 2015.

Submissions will include: (a) the abstract; maximum length is 300 words, (b) the biographical form, (c) conflict of interest disclosure form, and (d) educational documentation form.

All paper and poster presenters must register for the conference. Conference presenters are expected to assume costs related to travel, accommodations, and registration. A block of rooms has been reserved at the DoubleTree. Information related to the Conference and Accommodations will follow in a few months.

* Continuing education units may be applied to requirements for AHNCC Board certification or recertification

in Holistic Nursing or Nurse Coaching. Approval for RN and LCSW continuing education in process.
