Please update your information if we have something incorrect and add yourself if you are not on the list. This is also a good way to let us know your birthdays and anniversary if we do not have that on file. Please respect everyone’s privacy, as these are only to be used by church members to contact other church members.

ALTAR GUILD

Thank you to St. Andrew’s “wine angels.”Due to their generosity, St. Andrew’s is supplied with all of its communion wine.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC MINISTRY

With all the need and suffering in our world, it seems right to turn to God and ask, “Why don’t You do something???” And God answers, “I did. I created you.”

In response to His call, seven youth and two adult leaders from St. Andrews will travel this June to the Dominican Republic. Yet, this mission is not the mission of nine alone, it is a call to mission for all of St. Andrews. Those remaining here are equally important to the success of this mission, so how can you help?

First, pray for those who are traveling and for the community in which we will work. Second, consider a donation of items needed for this work. We seek two cordless drills and paint brushes of several sizes for our playground construction project. We also need children’s hand instruments that will be used for our afternoon music programs. These instruments will be left with the local Episcopal School so that music education may be added to their curriculum. Finally, we will incur a significant expense for our construction and music projects. The projected cost for the music program will be approximately $2,000. The projected cost of the playground construction is $2,500. Financial support in any amount will be greatly appreciated. Financial gifts may be given to Ginny at St. Andrews Church, pleasemark your gift for the 2016 Youth DR Mission. Together, we will make a difference. Please contact Don and Melissa Peeler at or at 402-578-5355 with any questions.

FOOD PANTRY

Due to a rise in the cost of food and a substantial decrease in the monetary donations the pantry has received this year, the Dean Fricke Food Pantry needs your help to provide food for the poor and needy. The non-perishable food items that each church collects for the pantry is only a small portion of what is needed for this mission. The majority of the food we use to fill our sacks comes from the Food Bank for the Heartland. If food is collected and donated to the Food Bank of the Heartland, it can be purchased by us at 16 cents a pound. For example, a can of Progresso soup at a retail store could cost between $1.00 and $1.50. That same can could be purchased through the Food Bank of the Heartland for 16 cents. By making a financial donation to the Dean Fricke Food Pantry, it can purchase up to 5 times the amount of food.

Please consider making a financial donation today. This is a vital ministry here in Omaha. Most churches will have donation envelopes available but if not, please send your donation to the address below.

ST. ANDREW’S ECW 54TH ANTIQUE SHOW

Our Annual Antique Show was a grand success. We had more visitors than we have had in recent years. The parking lot was full Friday with folks walking two or more blocks to visit the show. In addition, there were many church members at the show which I am particularly happy about. Your support is tremendously important to all of the folks who worked so hard to make this endeavor a success. As always, the young people who volunteered were awesome and everyone enjoyed their company and appreciated their hard work. Bebe Miller has already begun recruiting them heavily for the August Odds and Ends Sale! I send out my thanks to all of our volunteers. It takes many, many church members to create such a beautiful event. Please look for the list of team leaders that will appear in the May edition of The Greeter, for more information about this year’s Antique Show, and our hopes for a very special Antique Show in 2017. It will be our 55th year to host the show—a remarkable achievement. The Antique Show’s proceeds provide funds for church and community outreach programs every year. Many thanks to everyone.

Blessings,

Laraine Crane

Antique Show Team Leader
