The final week of school is fast approaching. And yet there are lots of things that are happening throughout the school. A couple of important dates on June 10th it’s SFX Fun Day. We will be having mass in the morning then afterwards it’s the rest of Fun Day. As an added treat the SFX staff will be running an exercise bike – a – thon to raise awareness of the Cancer Society. It will also be a ½ day with a noon dismissal.

On June 16th it will be a ½ day for students since the teachers will be working on various assessment and reporting. On the upcoming Friday – June 19th there will be NO SCHOOL because it’s Planning Day for teachers to start looking at the following school year. It will also be a ½ day on Friday – June 24th since the school will be celebrating the Grade 7 Farewell celebration.

On June 23rd – that’s the Tuesday the school will be celebrating the Farewell of Mrs. Aurita Josef as a teacher of our school. Any Grade 5 parent, especially those in 5J, is most welcome to attend and show your gratitude for Mrs. Josef’s hard work and dedication throughout her time here at St. Francis Xavier. On June 28th - Tuesday the following week the school will have our Praise Event where we celebrate the school year through music and prayer.

The last day of school will be on June 29th and it will be a noon dismissal as well. The day will start with mass then after a little bit of time with the students, they will be dismissed with their final report cards.

As this letter comes to a close, both the Grade 5 teachers are happy to have taught this year’s group of Grade 5 students. We hope that everyone will have a safe, relaxing, and happy summer. We look forward to hearing from all of you next school year. Please keep Mrs. Josef in your prayers as she starts a new path in her life as a retiree. May she be able to spend a long time with her family and friends, as well as do what she has wanted to do but hasn't had the time to do it. Keep Mr. Dela Luna in your prayers as he continues to teach with a new teaching partner who some of you might know…Ms Chu. Good luck to all of you and may God’s blessings shine on you always. Have a great summer!

Mr. Edward Dela Luna and Mrs. Aurita Josef
