Roar will find out what it takes to register PTA in BrønnøysundRegistrene in order to get an official registration number. This is needed to open a bank account for PTA.
Reply from Roar as he could not be present during the meeting:
The status on the bank account case is that I have sent in the application to Brønnøysundregistrene in order to see if we can be registered as a Volunteer Organization. I sent them our statutes and my own personal data as contact person, and the application should be processed one of these days.
In January I represented KIS PTA at the KFU (Kommunalt Foreldre Utvalg). All in all it was a very long meeting. The main topics were frustrations around the IT system (FRONTER) used by all the public schools and also the uncertain future of some of the public schools in Kongsberg. Most of what is discussed at KFU is directly related to that all the other schools are run by Kongsberg Kommune, but we are of course welcome and I gave I short presentation of what PTA at KIS are doing.
Temp solution: PTA Chair has created an account for PTA and will assume Treasurer role until the above is sorted. Laila & Roar as Co-Treasurers.

Autumn break to move from last week of Sept (Wk 40) to third week of Oct (Week 43).
Wk 43 proposed as new Autumn break. Students benefit from having more balanced weeks in school prior to Xmas break.

KIS Draft Code of Conduct
The current Code of Conduct forms part of the Parents’ Handbook. SLT have proposed this new version, after consultation with the staff and student councils and after comments from the state education department as to what codes should contain.
Code of Conduct is applicable forstudents/staff/parents – entire KIS community. / All

Since KIS turned 10 end of last year, has the school inform Chamber of Commerce Kongsberg that we are included in the 2014 celebration? Is KIS picked to hold 17th May speech at Church Square this year?
To make an effort to get PYP & MYP to participate in the parade.

Qualities: speak norsk, lobby for school’s rights, interact with kommune, board members, local networking with politicians, media, business, have passion for KIS.
2yr appointment, to attend board meetings – financial figures, staff managing.
Deputy Parent Rep for Board suggested - PTA chair
Potential candidates suggested: Anne Rygaard, Lars Ole Bjornsrud, JornLindvedt.
To have two candidates in place by May (last PTA meeting), and one elected then.

Some parents raised concerns about their children being excluded from qualified teachers who chose not to teach in the class where teacher’s child is in. Can school provide an equally qualified teacher as substitute for that class?
