Job Title: Technical Support Field Engineer

An extraordinary opportunity has arisen in our genuinely friendly and enjoyable Customer Support department, as a Technical Support Field Engineer. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Service Manager that wants to help you succeed. You will receive excellent training and be heavily supported throughout your career.
The successful Technical Support Field Engineer will carry out repairs on a wide variety of Brother Machines out in the field, which will cover Central England, South and Central Wales and the West Country including Devon and Cornwall. You will work closely with engineers, customers and the customer support department to assist in installation, problem solving and rectification. You will possess a high-level of attention to detail in fault finding, with the ability to show initiative when repairing products.
The successful Technical Support Field Service Engineer will ideally be qualified with a HNC, OND, City & Guilds or similar in an Engineering discipline with relevant experience working within a high-tech Service/Maintenance environment - ideally within an Electronic and Electro-Mechanical related field service role.

Objective

To provide Technical Field Support for Brother and its service clients including Third Party Maintenance companies together with Business and End User customers as required. To install and support machines under the Brother Managed Print Service. To support and assist the Senior Technical Support Engineers.

Main Tasks

·  To repair and test Brother Products both in the field and at Brother UK.

·  To install and commission Brother Product at customer and clients premises.

·  To install and maintain machines supplied under MPS contracts.

·  To carry out and assist in the testing and inspection of stock quality assurance checks (QA).

·  To attend technical meetings at Brother group companies and at service partners as required.

·  To ensure that all service activity is documented and logged in accordance with company procedures.


Requirements

Essential

·  Will ideally be qualified with a HNC, OND, City & Guilds or similar in an Engineering discipline.

·  Significant and relevant experience in a previous Engineering position.

·  Excellent analytical and diagnostic skills coupled with timely and precise rectification.

·  Computer literate, having a working knowledge of the current computer operating system. Ability to utilise Microsoft Office programmes; Excel, Word etc.

·  Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

·  Ability to work under pressure whilst relating complex technical information in an understandable manner to both non-technical and technical customers/partners.

·  Good written and verbal English skills.
