AMA scholarships for attendance
at this year’s
NZAMT conference
NZAMT13 Conference 1-4 October 2013 Wellington Girls College
This year AMA will be sponsoring up to three Provisionally Registered Teachers (PRT’s) who wish to attend and up to seven teachers who wish to present a workshop at this year’s NZAMT conference in Wellington. These scholarships are for current mathematics and statistics teachers who would be unable to attend the conference without support from the Auckland Mathematical Association.
Amount: AMA will pay up to a maximum of $1500, which may be used for conference fees, accommodation and transport to and from the conference. Receipts for expenses must be forwarded for reimbursement / payment to the AMA.
Requirements - PRTs
· Written letter with explanation about why you wish to attend and are unable to go without AMA support.
· HOD recommendation.
· It is expected that those teachers selected to attend will write a report of their experience for the Term 4 AMA newsletter.
Requirements – Presenters
· Written letter with explanation about why you wish to attend and are unable to go without AMA support.
· Details of the workshop you would present either at the conference or later at an AMA Saturday morning / conference day within the next calendar year.
*Please note Presenters will need to have submitted their abstract to the conference organisers before the Friday 5th July 2013.
How to apply:
Write a letter and send it (with any other requirements) to the AMA (by e-mail to Gillian Frankcom) that clearly explains how you intend to meet the above requirements. This must be received by the AMA no later than Friday, 10th May 2013.
