Principal Report – Mr. Jim Person (Interim Principal) Reporting

·  It’s a real treat to be here at PFHS – it’s a wonderful place: great administrative team, committed staff, students, parents, athletic boosters; all very welcoming. I’ve been in Loudoun a long time and retired last year. It’s been a luxury this year to fill in at three schools. We all deal with the same type of issues.

·  Dr. Noto has been gracious and supportive making my life easier

·  We are hosting international students for the International Student Summit this week. (4 students from China)

·  PFHS has strong supportive parents. More parental involvement helps administration stay balanced. Parents need to stay involved in the life of high school

·  PFHS’s Band earned the VA Honor Band designation for the 2014-2015 school year, the school musical Carousel is this weekend, and numerous Sporting Events are going on.

·  Survey for Waste and Nutrition will be conducted tomorrow (Breakfast and Lunch)

·  Survey for randomly selected students on Exams. Don’t know where that’s headed yet.

·  The 8th grade Expo was a rainy Day but big success. We wanted to change it to the afternoon but fortunately the weather cleared. It ran a little behind schedule but the 8th graders had a good time. They connected with clubs and sports teams. HS speakers did a great job. 8th graders got to eat lunch here.

·  Park View versus Potomac Falls basketball: we won! We received a trophy that’s currently located in the front office. We made about $50. Next year the event will be hosted at Potomac Falls and any proceeds earned at Potomac Falls HS will be PF’s profit
