Freedom Of Information Act 2000 - Information Request

The Council makes payments to the Kingston Theatre Trust (who manage and operate the Rose Theatre) in accordance with our “New Deal” agreement as approved by the Council’s Executive in December 2008.

Payments totalling £500,000 plus VAT have been made to date, and a further £212,500 plus VAT will be paid on 31 March 2010. In accordance with the decision of the Executive and the terms of our agreement with Kingston Theatre Trust, within the above amounts, a total of £150,000 plus VAT (being the rent due for the theatre) has been paid directly to the Kingston Theatre Limited Liability Partnership (the LLP), which owns the freehold of the building and as such is the Theatre Trust’s landlord.

The New deal runs for three years, to 31 December 2011. Further payments will be made as follows (to the Trust unless stated):

1 April 2010: £112,500 plus VAT

24 June 2010: £75,000 plus VAT – rent paid directly to the LLP

1 July 2010: £115,500 plus VAT

1 September 2010: 112,500 plus VAT

24 December 2010: £75,000 plus VAT – rent paid directly to the LLP

1 January 2011: £112, 500 plus VAT

1 April 2010: £112,500 plus VAT

24 June 2010: £75,000 plus VAT – rent paid directly to the LLP

1 July 2010: £115,500 plus VAT

1 September 2010: 112,500 plus VAT

24 December 2010: £75,000 plus VAT – rent paid directly to the LLP
