To: Potential Farm Applicants for the 2017 Fayetteville Farmers' Markets
Enclosed is a farm application form for membership in the Rural Mountain Producers Exchange (RMPE), which operates the Fayetteville Farmers' Market (FFM). We are pleased that you are considering applying for membership in the market.
RMPE is an Arkansas not-for-profit, which operates the Fayetteville Farmers' Market. The RMPE was created in 1973 to support local, sustainable agriculture, including small farmers, plant growers, fine artists and craft persons, by providing a marketplace for their locally produced products.
A nonrefundable application fee of $25 is required with all applications. Please complete and sign the application form and mail it with a $25 check payable to: RMPE at P.O. Box 3076, Fayetteville, AR 72702. Applications must be postmarked by March 1, 2016. Applications received without the $25 fee will not be considered. You may use a computer to fill in the application, but it must be printed and signed to be considered. *If you have questions, please feel free to contact Teresa Maurer, Vendor Coordinator at the phone or email at top of letter.
IMPORTANT NOTES: New RMPE members approved by the Board will be permitted to sell at the Fayetteville Farmers Market on the square on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday as space is available. Market spaces are determined by a point system based on years of membership, number of markets attended the previous year, commissions paid during the previous year and other factors.
To be eligible for membership, the vendor MUST reside in Washington, Carroll, Madison, or Benton counties. Products must be produced by the vendor at a single location. Products that can be sold include, but are not limited to: vegetables, fruits, plants, herbs, honey, eggs, meats and cheese. NOTE: As part of the review process, RMPE will consider how your farm products can diversify what is already offered at our weekday or Saturday markets.

Completed applications are reviewed during meetings of the RMPE Board of Directors. After the Board's review of your application you will be notified of your status and you will receive information about market rules, etc. A farm visit by a market manager will be scheduled after initial board review. An inspection fee may be charged for the farm visit and also additional mileage charges, depending on distance. After acceptance, the member pays an annual membership fee ($25) plus the commission on sales on the days they are at market.
