RESUME

Gilda Sánchez graduated from the University of Geneva, Switzerland in July 1979 where she obtained the Translator’s Diploma, Spanish-English-French. She previously studied Spanish Literature, one year, at UNAM (National Autonomous University) in Mexico City.

Since January 2002, she works part time at the Law Firm Natividad Abogados, S. C. as translator, where she has increased her knowledge of legal translation and works part time as free lance.

Among her most relevant experience has been:

  • Worked as translator for international conferences:

-Summit of the Americas held in Monterrey, México, January, 2004.

-First Ministerial Meeting of Mega Diverse Like-Minded Countries, Cancún, México, February 2001.

  • Published translations in magazines:

-For ADIAT (Mexican Association of Applied Research and Technological Development) has translated articles published in their magazine “Innovación & Competitividad”.

-For the Foreign Affairs Ministry in Mexico, translated into English the Magazine “Link” which was distributed to Mexican embassies.

  • Published translation of books:

-Suze Orman’s “The Courage to be Rich” into Spanish, “Atrévase a ser rico”. México, Granica, 2000, which represented research in the financial area vocabulary.

-Ken Kalb’s “Lightshift 2000” with the title “La nueva luz del milenio”, into Spanish in collaboration with Guillermo Sánchez. México CV Ediciones, July 2000.

  • For a Trade show company, translated brochures and all publications for their trade shows: Supercomm, PCS, Internet World, Americ Installations, among others.
  • Translator and proofreader for McKinsey & Co. Inc. in Mexico from 81-82 and 88-89.
