The tuition fees at Waikerie Lutheran Primary School supplement the money we receive from the State and Federal Government, and are essential if we are to maintain the quality of educational programs we offer. Tuition fees include most of the costs of educating your child; performances, swimming lessons, local excursions, amenities, and stationery and work books that are supplied at the beginning of the year. They do not include however, major camps or excursions into Adelaide. We aim to keep the school fees as low as possible, however, to maintain a quality standard of education we need to increase fees annually to keep in line with CPI.

PER TERM SCHOOL FEES 2013

1ST Child / 2nd Child / 3rd Child
Standard Fees / $360 / $310 / $260
SchoolCard Holders / $235 / $185 / $135

Families who are eligible for School Card automatically receive a hardship subsidy without the need for an interview or disclosure of financial situation.

Other families in financial hardship can apply for a hardship subsidy or part/full scholarship, but will need to meet with either the principal or bursar.

BUILDING FUND

This is a voluntary contribution, which is used to service existing building loans and to contribute towards the school’s building and maintenance program. Donations can be made either $25 per term or $100 per year to the Building Fund. Any amount over $2 is tax deductable. The focus of the building program this year is the development of the area surrounding the new Activity Centre.

CLEANING FEE

A yearly cleaning fee of $150 is charged in addition to tuition fees. There is however a remission of this fee to families who are able to assist in the “spring-cleaning” at the beginning of the year and are willing to place their name on a cleaning roster to service the front office and multi-purpose room. The total commitment of time is approximately 1.5 hours per term (if we are able to get enough parents willing to be involved!) and 2 hours at the spring clean. Deductions will be made to the following term’s fee statement. By involving parents in the cleaning roster we are able to save on cleaning costs.

PAYMENT OF FEES

Tuition fees will be invoiced at the beginning of each term. All fees are due and payable within four weeks of date of invoice. Alternative payment plans can be made in collaboration with the bursar. Credit card facilities are available at the school for your convenience. We also encourage Centrepayautomatic deductions; please ask at the office for a form. We thank you for your cooperation in relation to the prompt payment of accounts. Late fees may incur a late payment fee. If you are experiencing difficulty in making a payment, please do not hesitate to see either myself or Andrea Kalisch our bursar.

BOOK PACKS

These will be available from your child’s classroomthe week before school starts or upon beginning at Waikerie Lutheran Primary. Inside each pack there will be information provided by the classroom teacher with subject details so they may be correctly labelled and covered. This is your child’s supply of stationery for the year. All items are to return to school labelled with your child’s name. Once this supply has been used, parents will be asked to supply additional items which may also be purchased from the school.
