It recognizes and celebrates creativity and the highest standard of excellence in writing combining, qualities of the heart, mind and spirit.
The candidate must be an ECSS graduating student and have completed at least five [5] English courses. The candidate will have to demonstrate the qualities of this award and possess its essence. The candidate must complete an entry form and adhere to the rules and regulations of the contest. / $300 scholarship / Complete the ECSS Literary Award instructions

OSSTF Status of Women Scholarship / District 16 OSSTF recognizes a student planning to attend a postsecondary institution in September 2010. An essay addressing a number of questions such as the challenges that women face is required. / One scholarship for a student attending a University and one scholarship for a student attending a college – value of $500 / Complete the Status of Women Application Form

District 16 OSSTF committee
Alliance of Jamaican Alumni Association Bursary / The AJAA recognizes a student of Jamaican descent who will be graduating from an OntarioHigh School in 2010 and plans to pursue a post-secondary education.
Bursary Criteria:
- be of Jamaican descent
- maintain a minimum “B” average in the last 2 years of high school
- a graduate of an Ontario secondary school in 2010
- plan to pursue post-secondary education on a full-time basis
- be nominated by their school
- provide evidence of community service or involvement
- provide proof of acceptance to a community college or university
Staff / May17/10 to the Guidance Office for verification of submissions. These will be returned to you so that you can submit your final applications by June 4/10 to the Award Provider.

All students need to do is write a short response to the weekly question and they are eligible. They can also tell friends for extra entries, submit question ideas, and weigh in on questions submitted by other students. Students can enter each week and the more friends they tell, the more chances to win. / 10 weeks

Biotech Essay Contest / Write and submit a 1500 word essay on your view of “Canada’s Top Biotechnology Story of the Year”. The candidate must be entering a life sciences-related field at a Canadian post-secondary institution. / 1st place winner receives first year tuition to a maximum of $5,000 to a Canadian post secondary institution entering a life –sciences related field, an excerpt of their essay published in the fall issue of BIOTECanada’s Insights Magazine and recognition during National Biotechnology week.
2nd place winner receives a laptop.
