Contract between:

Management 201, 202 students, Linda Watson and Mr Liu

The class has established that the objectives of 201 and 202 is

  • To grow knowledge in management which will allow the class members to pass the assessment and examination for 201 and 202 with strong marks.
  • The members also wish to grow competence in writing assignments, and to generally improve their academic skills. As a consequence they will progress in a foreign University and will future-proof their career.
  • Furthermore, they intend to improve their English speaking, writing and comprehension skills. This will assist with passing the IELTS exam.

The class members have pledged the following:

  1. Come to English lectures.
  2. Listen and actively try to understand in class.
  3. Take lecture notes.
  4. Read Text-book and articles to support learning.
  5. Ask questions in class, after class and in tutorial.
  6. Practice.
  7. Attend Chinese tutorial to cover what they did not understand in class. Attend English tutorial to extend subject knowledge.
  8. Prepare the evening before the next day’s lectures by reading the relevant chapter - use MIP as the guide.

Linda believes her purpose is to work with students to grow knowledge that will assist students with future study. A high standard of teaching and engagement is required so that students will attain a high pass grade. The lecturers are not responsible for students who do not obviously wish to engage in learning.

Learning is a partnership between the Lecturers and the students. We systematically impact one another!

Linda has pledged the following:

  1. Linda will turn up on time to lectures ready to start a full morning’s lectures.
  2. Linda will ensure that she is prepared for lectures.
  3. Linda will advise students of any change in the MIP as soon as possible.
  4. Linda will advise all students via WeChat group and UWC site.
  5. Linda will post articles regularly on UWC to assist students.
  6. Linda will be available to the WeChat group as much as she is able and as much as is reasonable.
  7. Linda will prepare the tutorial content based on the needs of the group.
  8. Linda will answer individual and group questions when they arise or as negotiated.
  9. Linda will actively feedback to students on their progress so the student can immediately make corrections.
  10. Linda will negotiate on a daily basis the needs of students.
  11. The students are Linda’s customers and she will actively strive to develop their knowledge.
