  • -Welcoming Ariel Chang to the EB team!
  • -Prepare for Gary Matthews and his Associate VC's visit at our next general meeting
  • We hope for a good turnout of members. They will be updating the group on sustainability initiatives on campus.
  • Kim will reserve projection screen for meeting.
  • -SSN Task Forces updates
  • Jen is working on a charter with the members for the Eliminate Water Bottles on Campus campaign. They have met with the Student Sustainability Collective to talk about what is currently being worked on.
  • Find out from the other task forces what they are working on. Share template of charter with other task forces.
  • -SSN Holiday Party logistics
  • Mark – Holiday Party December 10th – booked room at Mandeville Suite 11th floor of Tioga Hall and invited VC Matthews
  • Sent out invitation to members asking them to RSVP to Alison
  • Purchase drinks
  • Jen will investigate purchasing reusable plates.
  • -SSN's involvement with Cool Campus Challenge
  • How do we encourage more people to participate? Reach out to our networks and encourage others to join.
  • The campus is in 9th place.
  • -SSN at Founder's Fair
  • Mark, Jen, Ali and Ariel & Yvonne can help that day.
  • Chris will bring plants.
  • SSN will be at Sara’s table and one member may need to be at another table with the other Staff Associations.
  • -SSN gift basket for Staff Association event, Annual Diversity at Work luncheon
  • Ali and Kim will put the basket together.
  • It will include, a one year membership to SSN, a plant and an order form for $20.00 worth of produce from Roger’s Garden CSA.
  • -Next SSN event in Jan (Pure Water and Water Wise)
  • Mark will reach out to the water groups to see when they can come.
  • It may be best to wait until our February meeting to have the speakers, when the campus is back from holiday break and back into the routine, this may allow for more member to come.
  • We could have tables set up in the back of the room for any handouts from speakers
  • Yvonne mentioned upcoming events included a bee keeping talk, xeriscaping and water wise plants and maybe a clean-up.
  • -SSN Fundraising
  • Jen will talk to gift people to see how SSN can come up in the search box, if a person wants to donate to sustainability on campus.
  • -Developing SSN apparel!
  • Ali and Ariel will research organic cotton and/or bamboo vendors for t-shirts and tote bags. Look into Fair Trade certified.
  • Potentially we could sell items to raise money for SSN or to give out to donors.
  • Kim has booked a larger space for our general meetings
  • Thanks to Hugh, we have reserved the Dolores Huerta-Philip Vera Cruz Room for Jan-June general SSN meetings.
  • Difficult to get the same room each month in the Price Center, as you can only book rooms 3 months in advance.
  • Ali suggested we have a Google Doc to share information. She will send info to EB members after meeting.
  • Ariel suggested SSN have a Linkedin page
  • She will investigate and set-up page.
  • Include a link to donating to SSN
