2013-2014 Career Day
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,
On Tuesday, December 10, 2013we hope to have an informative, exciting, and successful Career Day for our students. We need your help!
Career Day is an opportunity to introduce children to jobs in a variety of different fields, a chance to teach them about the education, training, and preparation required to hold a particular job, and a way to show them some of the day-to-day responsibilities that are required of working folks. No matter what you do – banker, nurse, architect, dentist, police officer, lawyer, military, computer engineer, or doctor – the children can learn about the world of work from you! So, if you, a relative, a neighbor, or a friend has a job that you love to talk about and share with others, being a Career Day speaker would be a perfect fit!
We plan to have the students visit 2-3 speakers. Each rotation will last about 25 minutes with 5 minutes to transition to the next rotation. Speakers will present the same information 2-3 times to 2-3 different groups. We will have one set of speakers for grades K-2 and a second set of speakers for grades 3-5.
THE STUDENTS LEARN BEST IF THEY ARE
ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN THE PROGRAM.
MODELS, DEMOS, VISUAL AIDS, & HANDS-ON ACTIVITIES
ARE ALL GREAT WAYS TO GET THE KIDS INVOLVED!
