Position Title: Maintenance Technician – Airport / BBP

Title of Immediate Supervisor: Maintenance Technician - Lead

Title of Positions Directly Supervised: None

BASIC JOB PURPOSE: Perform airport and facilities operations, maintenance, remodel, and repair duties such as required for Port buildings, facilities, equipment, grounds, vehicles and support systems. Work independently or as a crew to layout and complete equipment operator, mechanic, electrical, plumbing, welding, or other jobs. Promote the Port’s Promise, Mission, Vision and Values.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
Duties include airport and business park maintenance and operations and vary depending on priorities, shift, specialty, seasonal, and day-to-day activities.
1. Implement the Port’s Promise, Mission, Vision and Values including truthfulness,
integrity and teamwork.
2. / Perform grounds, asphalt surfaces, trails, and stormwater drainage construction, repair, and maintenance including equipment operation for mowing, weeding, spraying, pruning, sweeping, trenching, loading, hauling, and snow removal. Perform trash patrol/litter pick-up throughout the facility.
3. / Perform service, repair, remodel, and maintenance of Port buildings, airport runways, facilities, lighting, utilities, and support systems, BBP roadways, ditches, trails, lighting, utilities and support systems. Also service, troubleshoot, repair, and remodel vehicles and equipment. Pick up and delivery of parts and materials for maintenance repairs and projects.
4. / Respond to tenant calls and concerns, troubleshoot tenant property and facility matters, and work with lead maintenance tech, airport supervisor, Manager of Projects, Planning and Environmental Services to plan, layout, and complete rebuild, repair, or other work needed.
5. / Responsible for cleanliness of maintenance buildings, public restrooms, and other public access areas.

7. / Assist lead maintenance tech on job planning, layouts, inspections, and contract services, and keep records on maintenance inspections, pesticide applications,
training, service and repairs to vehicles, equipment, facilities, and other pertinent records as required.
Perform equipment maintenance and repair.
8. / Provide first response during working hours until other primary response arrives.
9. / Perform designated duties, as needed, of the lead airport / BBP maintenance tech such as required for work plans, schedules, inspections, overseeing work of summer crews, or other functions.
10. / Perform other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as may be required.

EQUIPMENT OPERATION REQUIREMENTS

Motor vehicles, heavy trucks and trailers, backhoe, tractors, sweepers, mowers, sprayers, power and hand tools, fire fighting equipment, lifters, telephone and cell phones with specialty equipment such as welding, plumbing, mechanic, construction, carpentry, electrical, and other tools and equipment. / Examples of projects include trail bridge construction, runway taxi light installation, office lighting relocation, equipment and facility maintenance, building repair, grounds work, trenching, snow removal and sweeping.

TRAINING, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Additional education in maintenance technical courses desirable.

Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years in facilities and equipment maintenance field, and proficiency in operation of referenced equipment required.

Training/Certification:Maintain WashingtonState commercial driver's license, pesticide applicator's license, first aid and CPR cards, and twenty-four (24) hour HAZWOPER certification.
