A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE JUDGE HAROLD C. DIXON OF CALHOUN FALLS ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AS MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE FOR THE TOWN OF CALHOUN FALLS AND TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS OVER THIRTY YEARS OF OUTSTANDING AND DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITIZENS OF CALHOUN FALLS AND THE STATE.

Whereas, after almost thirty-two years as Municipal Court Judge for the town of Calhoun Falls, Judge Harold C. Dixon is retiring; and

Whereas, marking the occasion of Judge Dixon’s retirement, Calhoun Falls has declared Sunday, January 30, 2005, as “Judge Harold C. Dixon Day”; and

Whereas, during his tenure as Municipal Court Judge, Judge Dixon has built a reputation as not only a fair and just jurist but also a genuinely kind man who cares about the citizens appearing before him, the Municipal court staff, and the citizens of his local community and the State;

Whereas, his many and varied contributions over the years, particularly in the town of Calhoun Falls, has made him a much loved local figure; and

Whereas, he has been involved in both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masonic Lodge and is an active member of the Calhoun Falls Church of God; and

Whereas, he was the beloved husband of the late Effie Davis Dixon and is the proud father of son Bobby Dixon; and

Whereas, upon his retirement, he will have the opportunity to spend more time with his family including his granddaughter Patsy Wood and his great grandchildren Holly, Derek, and Trent Wood; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to recognize Judge Dixon on the occasion of his retirement and joins the Calhoun Falls community in honoring him on “Judge Harold C. Dixon Day”. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize Judge Harold C. Dixon on the occasion of his retirement as Municipal Court Judge for the town of Calhoun Falls and commend him for his over thirty years of dedicated service to the citizens of Calhoun Falls and the State.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Judge Harold C. Dixon of Calhoun Falls.
