Bronek Korda

Dubbing

Profile

Bronek Korda is one of BBC Scotland’s best known and most widely respected creative talents. He joined the BBC in 1979 and has been a staff dubbing mixer since 1984, since then he has picked up numerous credits across the full breadth of TV genres. As a drama mixer he created the sound design for several BBC and Channel 4 series, ranging from the 1987 hit comedy drama Tutti Frutti, starring Robbie Coltrane and Emma Thompson, to BBC Scotland’s long-running soap River City. Bronek continues to be highly in demand from internal and external productions and as a mentor and adviser to his colleagues in dubbing and across post production.

Recommendation

Bronek is one of Scotland’s most experienced, creative and sought after dubbing mixers, and always brings a huge amount of added value to any production. His vast and highly impressive credit list incorporates a wide range of quality documentary projects and is testament to the high regard in which he is held. On top of that, he has a great attitude and manner, and is a delight to work with.

I believe that working in the creative industries is a constant challenge and is as much about the people you work with as it is the product you make. If you are lucky enough to work alongside true professionals with expert knowledge, understanding and passion for the job, your journey through the production minefield can be both immensely enjoyable and educational. I've come away from my last Production, 'Scotland's Game' in awe of the sound design and dubbing team - led and organised by Dubbing Mixer Bronek Korda, one of World's post production supremo's. I can think of no better accolade than recommending to all Directors and Producers (regardless of experience) to pass through, at least once, his Dubbing and Audio post production base. You're knowledge and career will benefit greatly. Contact me any time for further information.

Stuart Greig

Series Producer 'Scotland's Game'

I've worked with Bronek on dozens of films over the years and it’s always been very reassuring when we've been able to secure his talents. He has a brilliant way of making the dub both a pleasurable, entertaining experience and a meticulous, highly collaborative creative process. He handles music wonderfully and always brings ideas and imagination to the whole dubbing experience – I’m always very grateful for his ear for detail, whether its dubbing the right type of birdsong or helping repair and rescue less than perfect edits....Above all, in my experience - having worked with him as director, producer, and now Exec - he always demonstrates a fantastic commitment to supporting the director in achieving the very best for their film. I would always thoroughly recommend Bronek and hope we can keep him from retirement as long as possible.....!
