AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The Birchwood Practice is located in Creekmoor, Poole, Dorset (Tel 01202 697639) and also has a branch surgery at Wimborne Road, Oakdale, Poole, Dorset (Tel 01202 672065). We are a registered training practice and regularly accommodate GP trainees working at the Practice. These trainees are closely supervised by our approved GP trainer and partner; Dr Christopher Cole.

In addition to our standard opening hours we also offer the following extended hours at our Creekmoor surgery:

The practice has a list size of over 9,000 patients and there is a pharmacy located within the purpose built building at Creekmoor. The building at Creekmoor also houses a private dental practice. Both locations provide on-site parking for staff and patients.
We aim to treat all patients and staff with dignity, respect and honesty without discrimination and to offer a friendly, efficient, modern, family doctor service in fully-equipped, well-run practices. Dr David Goodworth (Senior Partner) and DrChristopher Cole (Partner) work in partnership, alongside Dr Ben Wallace, DrStephanie Dalton, Dr Helen Platts, Dr Laura Carey and Dr Emily Harvey; who cover both the Creekmoor and Oakdale surgeries. In addition we also have an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (prescribing) and two fully qualified Practice Nurses along with a Health Care Assistant. Health Visitors are also located within our surgery at Creekmoor.
We will focus on the prevention of disease by promoting healthy living. We will endeavor to involve our patients in the decisions we make which may affect the care we provide for them. We use the Friends and Family survey and our very successful Patient Participation Group to assist us with this.
We also ensure regular liaison with our PPG in order to continually improve our services.
We will recruit, retain and develop a highly motivated and appropriately skilled workforce and will ensure that all of our staff receive continuous training in order to facilitate and deliver safe and effective patient care. We will use our Training Matrix to monitor this training.
We will develop and implement effective and robust information governance systems using the IG Toolkit.
