Message: Ephesians 6:12

What stands out to you from the service on Sunday? What is one thing from the sermon or worship that you hope we discuss today?

When you hear the term “spiritual warfare” what images appear in your mind? What are the sources of those images? The Bible, popular culture, the media?

Is there a temptation to rely on our own strength? Why? In what situations are you likely to rely on your own strength?

What is the goal of the devil’s schemes? Why do you think the devil attacks believers?

Read Matthew 4:1-11. When did temptation come to Jesus? How is that like our life? What types of things did the devil tempt Jesus with? How is that like us?

James 1:14 says “each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.” How can we tell when sin in our lives is because of our own desires or because of opposition of spiritual enemies?

Read Job 1:6-12 & Job 2:1-7. Who does Satan accuse? What does this passage tell us about the limits of Satan’s power over us? How does this help you when you are suffering?

Read Revelation 12:3-9. There is a lot of imagery in this passage. Who do you think is the dragon, the woman and the child? What do you think is meant by “a third of the stars in the sky”? Is the battle between Michael and the dragon in the past or the future?

Read Daniel 10:1-14. Who is speaking to Daniel in this passage? Who do you think the “prince of the Persian kingdom” is? What does his ability to resist the speaker tell us about spiritual warfare and the power of those who oppose God in the supernatural world?

According to Revelation 20:7-10, what is the final outcome of the devil? How does this help you war against him spiritually?
