Morning Campers
Theme: Fairytales
Monday, August 7Welcome to the land of Fairytales. You have been invited into this magical kingdom where stories come to life. We are under a spell in which almost everything rhymes.
Meet the teachers, aides and kids. What’s your name in the land of Fairytales? Each class will create the name of their Kingdom, their name in the Kingdom, and how they greet each other. Choose the colors of the Kingdom. Rhyming is the course to choose, remember to always tie your shoes. Will we break free from this spell? Only time will tell! During class, everyone will work together to introduce themselves in front the camp on Tuesday.
Tuesday, August 8 Each class will tell us the name of their Kingdom, each person’s name, and also demonstrate how they greet someone from their Kingdom.
Wednesday, August 911:00 AM in the auditorium:campers will see New Moon Theatre’s presentation of Minwa Japanese Folk Tales.
Thursday, August 10Campers will prep for Friday morning’s talent show. Please bring in any props that will be needed for the show. Read a poem, tell a joke, sing or dance with music, do a physical activity, play instruments, tumble with mats, etc…
Friday, August 11It’s Fun Friday! Fridays are performance days. We have a morning TALENT SHOW with prizes, beginning at 9:00 AMin the auditorium. Parents are welcome to attend the performance. The idea is (1) to have a low-stress performance event before the final performance on the last day of camp and (2) to give the children an opportunity to perform by themselves (or with a friend) in a student-directed performance. Parent attendence is not mandatory. If given a choice, we would love to have you at our final performance.
Monday, August 14Royal Treasure Hunt
Tuesday, August 15Dress up as your favorite Fairytale character. Share who you are (30 seconds or less). Participate in our Grand Ball.
Wednesday, August 16Face Painting. *Parents must approve. Second option - Children can have teacher paint a design on their hand, paper, etc…
Thursday, August 17DRESS REHEARSAL:We will rehearse the entire final performance
on stage.
Friday, August 18Last Day of the Session!
The entire camp will have a pre-cast party before the final performance (extended snack). Sending food for this party
is optional. Please feel free to pack as snack as usual. Please do not bring products that contain nuts. It is our number one food allergy. The party is an extended break for the campers to have fun and not stress over the show.
The morning performance is scheduled for 11:15 AM.
