About Parses
Parses – The E/M Audit Experts
Parses was founded in 2002 by a team of experienced managed care professionals and physicians with over 180 years of combined experience in managed care, Medicare and Medicaid, auditing and coding, and claims recovery. In 2006, Parses acquired HCS, an E/M coding and recovery firm founded in 1999. The merger of these two E/M specialist companies created the leading firm in this market space.
We focus exclusively on E/M claims and have conducted over 400,000 audits. Our audit results are compiled in a growing database of more than 10,000,000 E/M claims. We mine this knowledge base to continually improve our automated tools, educate our auditors, and provide our clients with insight into common coding errors and claims that provide the greatest financial recovery.
Accuracy and Scale – Leveraging Technology
With the CODeXACT solution, Parses can provide professional audit services for E/M claims at less than the cost of traditional methods and scale the audit from reviewing a few providers to assessing the entire network.
CODeXACT uses automated tools to randomly select physicians, claims, and records for review to ensure fair and unbiased audits. Embedded communications tools that meet strict federal, state, and industry guidelines create letters to facilitate Coding Behavior Analysis, Medical Record Requests, Audit Trail Reports, Reimbursement Reconciliation Statements, and Corrective Action Programs.
We image and index the medical record to the associated claim. Our team of certified auditors uses the 95 and 97 CMS Guidelines to audit the record. The scope of audits can be expanded by simply increasing the number of auditors assigned to a client audit program.
Our audit results are delivered with a Fully Disclosed Audit Trail (FDA) that combines an image of the actual patient medical record and the details of the audit. Our secure Web Portal allows our clients and physicians to view the record and audit details side-by-side.
Education – The Basis for Sustained Improvements
Our audit trail is a unique education tool that graphically demonstrates the correct code based on the documentation provided. Beyond the detail of the audit trail, Parses has developed videos, webinars, and peer-to-peer reviews to educate physicians and other healthcare providers on the criteria for proper documentation and billing. Our education offerings also help our clients meet DHH recommendations for educating their providers to improve coding behavior.
