CALL TO ORDER at 7:04 PM by Mayor Keenan

Present: Mayor Perry Keenan, Vice Mayor Danny Rediker, Alderman Randell Bracey, Alderman Bruce Drake, Alderman George Leasure

CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES

Alderman Leasure motioned to approve the minutes from the Regular Council Meeting on July 14, 2015. Alderman Drake 2nd the motion. All Aye. Mayor Keenan – Did not vote. Motion passed.

APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA OF THE EVENING

Vice Mayor Rediker motioned to approve the agenda of the evening. Alderman Bracey 2nd the motion. All Aye. Mayor Keenan – Did not vote. Motion passed.

PUBLIC FORUM

Columbus Jones

Mr. Jones spoke to thank the Town for their support, especially the police department and fire department for their service when needs arise.

Kelly Ellis, The Livery Stables

Ms. Ellis reminded everyone of the Five Rivers Resource Conservation’s event, the Apple Festival, which will be held at the Livery Stables on Saturday, August 22nd from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Mr. Babe Donelson, 2139 Pinnacle Circle

Mr. Donelson spoke about the Town donating property for the dog park. He said he feels the property should be used for kids and families.

Vice Mayor Rediker motioned to close the public forum. Alderman Drake 2nd the motion.

COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE MAYOR

A.  Cruise’n N Groove’n will be Friday, August 21st from 5:00 p.m. til 9:00 p.m.

B.  Climb A Truck Day scheduled for this Saturday, August 15th at Pleasant View Community Park from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

C.  The losses in our community over the past couple of weeks have been heartbreaking. Thankful to live in a community that has shown such an outpouring of support during these difficult times.

D.  July Cruise’n N Groove’n winner plaque was awarded – Mr. Chad Walker, 1968 Orange Chevy Camaro

PLANNING COMMISSION

Approved site plan for Sudden Service at Highway 49 & Old Clarksville Pike; approved site plan on Oaklawn Road property lines; discussed Mission Acres Road issue. Held a Workshop tonight on the Sign Ordinance.

PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD

There was not a quorum for the July meeting. An unofficial meeting was held with speakers supporting the dog park.

BUSINESS ADVISORY BOARD

Talked about the Sign Ordinance and Design Standards.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Monthly Destination University webinar to be held at City Hall tomorrow; Back to School Bash was a huge success; End of Life discussion to be held on August 20th at the Ashland City Senior Center.

NEW BUSINESS

A.  Resolution 15-05 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLEASANT VIEW BARK BUDDIES ORGANIZATION TO CONSTRUCT A DOG PARK WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF PLEASANT VIEW

Alderman Leasure motioned to approve Resolution 15-05. Alderman Bracey 2nd the motion.

Alderman Leasure withdrew the motion to approve. Alderman Bracey withdrew the 2nd to the motion.

Alderman Leasure motioned to table for the Workshop on August 25th. Alderman Bracey 2nd the motion to table. Alderman Leasure – Aye. Alderman Bracey – Aye. Vice Mayor Rediker – Nay. Alderman Drake – Nay. Mayor Keenan – Aye. Motion passed.

B.  Expenses to Tennessee Municipal League in the amount of $1,398.00 for 2015-2016 Annual Dues

Vice Mayor Rediker motioned to approve expenses in the amount of $1,398.00 to Tennessee Municipal League. Alderman Leasure 2nd the motion. Vice Mayor Rediker – Aye. Alderman Leasure – Aye. Alderman Bracey – Aye. Alderman Drake – Aye. Motion passed.

OTHER BUSINESS

-  Mayor Keenan stated he had been working with Mark Goins on the sign ordinance and design standards. He has asked for both documents to be sent to the Planning Commission in October so it can be forwarded to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen in November for first reading.

-  Alderman Bracey asked about the information he had requested on the building permits for last year.

ADJOURNMENT

Alderman Leasure motioned to adjourn. Vice Mayor Rediker 2nd the motion. All Aye. Mayor Keenan – Did not vote. The meeting was adjourned at 7:48 p.m.

The next meeting is scheduled for September 8, 2015 at 7:00 PM at Pleasant View City Hall, 1008 Civic Court, Pleasant View, Tennessee.
