Vermont Screening, Brief Intervention and Treatment (SBIRT) Program
AdCare Educational Institute (AdCare), Inc., in cooperation with Evidence Based Solutions, LLC, is accepting applications for a full time position to serve as the Training and Quality Assurance Coordinator for the Vermont Screening, Brief Intervention and Treatment (SBIRT) Program. SBIRT is designed to integrate screening for substance use and mental health and related services into primary care settings. This position supports the implementation and utilization of the SBIRT model by health care professionals and community service providers by providing: a) training, b) expert quality improvement coaching, and c) team facilitation to promote changes and improvements in health care and behavioral health delivery systems.
Knowledge of the field of substance use intervention is strongly desired. The position requires a Master’s Degree in psychology, substance abuse/mental health counseling, nursing, social work or other related field. Two plus years experience working at a professional level are required. Professional experience conducting trainings for a diverse range of medical professionals strongly preferred. The final candidate will join a team of experts in the SBIRT model and receive training and support to complete his/her work.
The position will be located in Montpelier, VT within the offices of Evidence Based Solutions, and will require occasional statewide travel. AdCare is an AA/EEO Employer. Overview of Position: This position will provide assist and support the implementation of a five-year, federally funded grant designed to support the implementation of an evidence based intervention and brief substance abuse treatment practice in primary healthcare settings across the State of Vermont. The Coordinator will provide: a) training, b) expert quality improvement coaching, and c) team facilitation to promote changes and improvements in health care and mental health delivery systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Conduct initial assessments of organizational needs related to the implementation of SBIRT,
-Develop and deliver educational sessions for experienced health and mental health professionals,
-Instruct teams on methods to evaluate their efforts to implement the protocols,
-Analyze available data to evaluate the impact of the initial training and technical assistance, in order to make recommendations concerning further adjustments and enhancements.
-Assist with the preparation and submission of periodic reports to the program’s funders
-Support and help maintain mutually beneficial relationships with collaborators in the Vermont Department of Health/Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Programs, UVM/College of Medicine, community medical providers, Bi-State Primary Care Association, other national program sites, and the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency, among others.
-Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Relationships:
-Supervised, programmatically by the VT SBIRT Program Manager, EBS, LLC
-Supervised administratively by the AdCare Director of Vermont Projects
Qualifications:
-Master’s Degree in mental health counseling, nursing, social work or other related field.
-Two plus years experience working at a professional level are required.
-Professional experience conducting trainings for a diverse range of medical professionals strongly preferred.
-Knowledge of and experience utilizing the technique of Motivational Interviewing strongly preferred

-Occasional travel throughout Vermont required
-Exposure to common infectious diseases through visits to clinical sites
Hours Per Week/Day: Full time: 40 hours per week.
