Meet Package:The only meet package which will be considered as valid must be the most current version found on

Eligibility:All swimmers must be registered as Competitive Swimmers with SNC, or any other amateur swimming organization recognized by FINA. A valid SNC registration number is required for all Canadian swimmers, and entries without a SNC registration number will be declined entry.

Meet is restricted to members of the St. Clair Erie Aquatic League and will be sanctioned as a closed meet.

All entries must be submitted through the SNC online entries system at: Meet management will not accept entries by email.

Deadline for entries is October 19th, 2016.

Qualifying Stds:No qualifying times. Please submit SCM times for seeding purposes.

Meet Information:A snack bar will be open throughout the meet. Shoes must be worn when not in the pool area. Food is not permitted in the pool area. Only officials and swimmers will be allowed on the pool deck. There are lockers in the change rooms to store belongings. Please bring your own lock.

Scratches:Please report all scratches in writing IMMEDIATELY upon arrival at the meet. There will be no penalty for no shows or scratches.

Awards:Ribbons will be awarded for 1st to 6th place in the following age categories: 7 & under, 8,9,10,11,12,13,14 & over and OPEN.

Times for lunch and Session 2 will be based on the completion of Session 1.

COMPETITION RULES:

  • All current SNC Rules will govern the meet. The FINA start rule will be in effect. Only swimmers registered and recognized by an amateur association recognized by FINA. 9 digit registration # must be provided.
  • Please note that SNC Warm Up Procedures will be in effect at this meet. Swimmers witnessed by a Safety Marshal diving or entering the water in a dangerous fashion will be removed without warning from their first individual event following the warm-up period in which the violation occurred.   • Only FINA approved swimwear is allowed in competition as per rule GR5. The full details can be viewed at
  • Coaches are responsible for the supervision of their swimmers during warm up. Coaches are responsible for their swimmers’ conduct and knowledge of the Safety Procedure Rules. Coaches are responsible to inform their swimmers of the Safety Rules as contained in this package, to ensure the athletes’ adherence of these rules and to discipline the athletes’ behaviour if necessary.
  • Meet Officials will provide a safe environment and an organized competition. Meet Officials are not responsible for the supervision of the athletes during the competition and, especially, during session breaks. Only participating swimmers, officials, certified registered coaches, and authorized people are allowed on the deck.
  • The maximum number of individual events per swimmer is 4 (one entry per stroke).
  • The OPEN 100 Fly, OPEN 100 Back, OPEN 100 Breast, OPEN 100 Free is limited to those swimmers that have attained SEALB times as a 14 and over swimmer in those events.
  • A swimmer may move up in age to swim a relay and may swim more than one relay only in order to allow all swimmers to participate. ‘All relays will run as single gender. No mixed relays.
  • Swimmers age will be determined as of October 23, 2016.
  • All events will be time finals and seeding will occur from fastest to slowest by gender and age.
  • Each club is responsible for providing 2 officials per session. Please have your COC email with the names and positions of the officials. Please indicate any evaluations/sign-offs are needed.
  • Photographers must obtain authorization to access the deck before the event from meet management.

COACH REGISTRATION – Meet management will cross reference the list of coaches in attendance at this competition with the list provided by Swim Ontario. The full link is:

If a coach is not on this list, meet management is obligated to enforce the SNC policy and not permit the coach to attend the meet. Meet management will forward Swim Ontario a list of coaches who they have found to be in non-compliance.

TIME SPLITS:

  • The procedure for obtaining an “Official Split” now requires that coaches make the request to the session referee or meet management on the “Official Split Request” form prior to the race. The split for the lead-off leg in relays will still be regarded as an official split and therefore no request by coaches is needed for relays. However, in the new “mixed gender” relays, lead off times/splits are not considered “official splits” as per international practice.
  • Meet management requires that any coach wishing to rely on a time achieved by the swimmer for an interval shorter than the total distance of the event shall so advise the Referee prior to the commencement of the session (or event) in question

RECORDING OF EVENT:

  • Only individuals that have made application and received authorization to record the event, in any manner, in any medium or context now known or hereafter developed, shall be granted access and permission to do so. Please contact Meet Management for application and authorization.
