Mentor Log: Record of Time and Activity

Alabama Teacher Mentor Program

Note: The Alabama Teacher Mentor Program recommends that mentor teachers spend between 1 to 2½ hours per week in this role. The purpose of this mentor log is to document your work as a mentor. During this developmental year, the ATM program is interested in the kinds of work that you do (“What I Did” column) as well as the primary areas requiring your attention (“Focus Area” column.) Use the Alabama Quality Teaching Standards in this last column.

Your principal may ask to see these logs of your time. Please do not include any information that would give your administrator information about content that would affect his or her evaluation of the beginning teacher. This is strictly a record of your time and activities as a mentor. At the end of the semester, these logs will be collected by the Mentor Liaison in your school system.
