4. Points are awarded each night you swim, based on your improvement.

5. If a swimmer swims less than the distance stated in the grades in these rules, (i.e. a, D grader who only swims 25m Butterfly instead of 50m) will only be eligible for one (1) point and not the maximum amount of points that are available.

5 POINTS for first upgrade swim (only applies to swimmers upgrading to different distances (i.e. Novice to D Grade, D Grade to C Grade, C Grade to B Grade - Butterfly only).

* All times achieved at Kootingal - Moonbi Point Score CAN NOT be used as entry times when entering in ANY CARNIVALS!

12. When a swimmer is upgraded to a grade where they will swim the same distance in the majority of strokes (i.e. B to A grade), they will keep their best times that were achieved for each stroke in their previous grade until a new best time is achieved for each stroke in their current grade. For strokes with different distances (i.e. 200m to 400m distance, 50m to 100m Butterfly) the swimmer will then be awarded the 5 Points for the first upgrade swim, this only applies to strokes that have different distances than their previous grade.

13. All swimmers MUST have their names marked off with the Point Score Co-ordinator at LEAST 10 minutes before the scheduled start of Point Score.

14. LISTEN out for the events being marshalled. If swimmers are NOT in marshalling they may miss their race and will NOT receive any points for that race.

15. There will be a Chief Timekeeper appointed each Point Score night, they will mainly be used for back up if a timekeepers watch fails to start or fails during a race.

16. TIMEKEEPERS - If you have a problem (i.e. stopwatch failed to start or has stopped part way through a race) notify the Chief Timekeeper IMMEDIATLEY. IT DOES NOT help the swimmer in ANY WAY if you have guessed their time if the stopwatch hasn't worked correctly. Please remember to record ALL numbers that are shown on the stopwatch and make sure your times are written clearly so the Point Score Co-ordinator can enter the correct time and allocate the correct points for the swimmers. The SWIMMERS are the most important part of Point Score and EVERY SWIMMER DESERVES A FAIR AND CORRECT TIME.

17. The Club encourages all parents to assist on club nights, whether it is helping with the BBQ, Foodservice, Time Keeping, Marshalling or Card Running, if we don't have help on Club Nights the club cannot run. When the call goes out for help, please offer your services.

18. If a card system is being used, EACH swimmer will have a card for each of the strokes. These are kept by the Point Score Co-ordinator and handed out each Point Score night. PLEASE DO NOT DAMAGE YOUR CARD OR YOUR TIMES MAY BE LOST.

19. Strictly NO BODY is allowed in the pool once the races have finished for the night - unless assisting with the removal of the lane ropes. THIS IS A COUNCIL RULE.

20. No children are to operate or handle the stop watches.

* It does not matter where you finish in a race, it is all about improving your own Personal Best Time (PB)!
