Peanut Free

We are a peanut free/Nut free classroom. Please do not send your child with food that has nuts or a nut product in it.

Arrival and Dismissal:

8:00 Arrival and 2:00 Dismissal

Please be prompt with pick up, there is no after school care. Also, please park along Mt. Read Blvd, when dropping off and picking up your child.

Medication:

The school nurse will administer all medications. Please contact the nurse if your child is to have any prescription medication during school hours. If your child has asthma, you may want to consider leaving a spare inhaler with the nurse. Do not send medicine to school in your child’s book bag. This includes cough drops or “sore throat lollipops”.

Birthdays and Holiday celebrations:

Due to the diversity of the Pre-K program we do not celebrate any holidays. This is out of respect foreveryone, we do not want anyone excluded. For Birthdays: If you would like to supply the snack on your child’s Birthday you are welcome to do that. Please let me know ahead of time if you plan on bringing in snack on your child’s birthday. It must be store bought and peanut free.

Outside:

Going outside every day is part of our Pre-K program. This means even when it is cold outside, we will go out. Obviously if there is extreme weather we will not go outside. Please pack weather appropriate clothing. Your child can not stay inside during our outside time. If they are not dress to go outside, they can borrow some of our extra clothes to go outside.

Classroom Temperature:

Our classroom is air conditioned. On Warm days our room can be quite cool. Also, during the winter our classroom does get nice and warm. I suggest dressing your child in layers or leaving a long sleeved shirt in your child’s book bag.

Clothing

During work time your child is able to use many different types of materials. This often includes paint and markers. We try our best to keep it off the children’s clothing, but sometimes it happens. Please make sure your child has a change of seasonal appropriate clothing with him or her. It can be left in his or her cubby or book bag.

Rest Time

Every day we do a rest/nap time. The students have a cot that they sleep on at this time. Please send in a blanket for your child to rest with. The blankets will be sent home every Friday to get washed. Please send them back in on Monday.
