COURT CALENDAR FOR 2000
DARWIN
THE OPENING OF THE LEGAL YEAR will be held Tuesday 1 February 2000.
CIVIL MATTERS will be listed for hearing by the Master or Registrar pursuant to Rule 48.33(8) of the Supreme Court Rules (by direction of the Chief Justice of 14 November 1994).
PRE-TRIAL CONFERENCES IN THE CRIMINAL JURISDICTION will be held on the Wednesday prior to the Arraignment day at 2.00 pm. Tentative dates for trials etc will be given at those conferences and confirmed on the arraignment day.
INTERLOCUTORY APPLICATIONS will be held each Thursday before the Duty Judge at 10.15 am and before the Master at 9.30 am.
CALLOVERS OF JUSTICES' APPEALS will be held on the first Wednesday of each month commencing at 9.30 am. the first such callover to be held on 2February 2000. Hearing dates will be allocated at the callovers.
CALLOVERS OF COURTS OF APPEAL matters will be held on the dates listed below, commencing at 2.00 pm.
ADMISSION OF LEGAL PRACTITIONERS will be held on the first Tuesday of each month at 9.30 am.

THE OPENING OF THE LEGAL YEAR will be held on 1 February 2000
A Judge sitting at Alice Springs will conduct a CALLOVER at the end of all sittings in Alice Springs, of all matters listed for the next sittings, whether civil or criminal.
INTERLOCUTORY APPLICATIONS will be heard by the CIRCUIT JUDGES as required. Arrangements may be made with Supreme Court staff at Alice Springs.
INTERLOCUTORY APPLICATIONS BEFORE THE MASTER will be conducted by telephone each Wednesday commencing at 2.00 pm (See Acting Registrar’s memorandum dated 18 June 1999 on page 52).
ADMISSION OF LEGAL PRACTITIONERS will take place as the need arises. Arrangements may be made with the Associate to the circuit Judge.
