Meeting called to order at 10:00 AM Eastern Standard Time.
Sheriff Chuck Korzenborn called role. Sheriff’s absent: Sheriff Boggs, Sheriff Gaines, Sheriff Leavell, Sheriff Perdue, and Sheriff Pate.
Sheriff Korzenborn certified a quorum.
Motion was made by Byars and seconded by Hampton to excuse the absent board members. Motion was approved unanimously.
MINUTES OF PRIOR MEETING
A motion to approve the Minutes from January 30, 2015 made by Sheriff Peoples and seconded by Sheriff Matthews to approve the minutes of the prior meeting as written. Motion was approved unanimously.
PRESIDENT AGENDA
Welcome all guest and Sheriffs in attendances.
Sheriff Expense checks are being directly deposited and all sheriffs need to sign up through finance and administration cabinet.

KSA 2015 Conference in Owensboro September 14-18.

Sheriff Gaines / Retired Sheriff Wagner- The benefits the KSA has received from KACo during the legislation session and throughout the year is 1st class.

KSA Executive Director Wagner Report
KSA Director Wagner submitted the January, and February financial report for the ranch.
Motion was made to approve the reports made by Sheriff Peoples and seconded by Sheriff Hampton to approve the financial report. Motion was approved unanimously.
Sheriff Inspections-The vehicle inspection recertification classes have started. Another meeting is upcoming; the 17 point checklist is not in the KRS to do 17 point inspection.
Department of Transportation does not like county clerks doing vehicle inspections for sheriffs.
KSA Ranch Vehicle-The price of the chances sold during the Sweet 16 was approximately $3,500. If you would like the truck at an event please contact the ranch or Jerry Wagner.
Audits-Sheriff are having problems by spending money out of asset forfeiture account improperly.
Walt Tangel is retiring from DOCJT he has been a great asset to the KSA we will miss “WALT”
NSA President
New Executive Director is Jonathan Thompson.
The NSA has been seen on Capitol Hill more now in the past with the new director. Mr. Thompson is moving forward by having conference call with committee members monthly.
As the KSA needed to change, so did the NSA need to move forward by being proactive regarding legislation.

HB 192 Heroin Bill Narcan bill change from may to shall. Passed
HB 151 takes over jails by sheriffs. Failed
Spiking Bill and KLEFPF bills died in committee.

KSA Directors Vehicle- The vehicle has 77,000 miles; Director Wagner has received pricing of $42,000 for new vehicle. Trade in would be about $23,000 the KSA owes $2,100. A motion was made by Sheriff Hampton to purchase a new vehicle and selling the used one for $23,000, seconded by Sheriff Ward.
