Junior Advanced Squad - Qualifying Criteria

--- General Comments ---

Note: As a result of the Club’s ongoing success and the ever-increasing demand for places within this Squad, criteria for membership will continue to evolve over time.

General: Swimmers in this Squad are required to satisfy all of the criteria below, at all times.

Discretion: Membership to this Squad is exclusively at the Head Coach’s discretion. The Head Coach may decide to allow certain swimmers, whom are not meeting all set criteria, to join this Squad for exceptional reasons.

--- Criteria for membership to the Junior Advanced Squad ---

Availability:There are only 20 spaces available in this Squad.

Age:Only swimmers who are between the ages of 10 and 12 (age as of December 31st) are eligible to be in this Squad, unless the Head Coach agrees otherwise.

Attitude:Swimmers are expected to demonstrate impeccable work ethic and attitude whilst training, competing or wearing the Club’s attire. Swimmers are expected to respect the Swimmers’ Code of Conduct at all times, towards coaches, teachers, helpers, swimmers and parents, from this Club or others.

Attendance:Whilst it is recommended and desired for swimmers to attend all training sessions available to them, swimmers in this Squad are expected to attend a minimum of 5 swimming sessions out of the 6sessions available to them, in addition to land-based training sessions. Should a swimmer not be able to train for a prolonged period of time (illness, holidays, exams, revision, etc.), he/she should notify the Squad Coach(es) in advance and make special arrangements.

Achievements:There are no requirements in terms of County or Regional Times for this Squad. Swimmers are, however, expected to compete at all Club Championships, at all Sussex League and Arena competitions (if selected), and to enter 4 Open Meets (including TFOM and Santa Chaser) during a 12-month period.
