Webelievethatreferencestothosewhodo“fallaway”(Matthew24:10),whose“lovewillgrowcold”(Matthew24:12),arereferencestomenandwomenwhoclaimthatthey areinChristbut,inreality,arenot.ChristtaughtthatthekingdomofGod—thegenuineelectofGod—willbeinfiltratedwithtares,thosewhoclaim(andmayeventhink)thatthey areinChristbut who,inreality,are not.Theseclaimants(tares) maybemembersof alocalchurch,buttheyarenot,andhaveneverbeen,truecitizensofthekingdomof God.Matthew7:21;13:24–30,37–42;24:10,12;1John2:19
