Developed HSE programs and systems for Indian Oil's Rs. 18,000 Crore mega projects viz Panipat Refinery Expansion Project, PX & PTA Projects at Panipat Refinery Complex. Implemented new HSE policies and procedures, coupled with environmental initiatives.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. To assist formulation of HSE goals & objectives and to develop plans to achieve the agreed objectives.
2. To provide safety and loss prevention information and support, including interpretation of internationally recognized engineering and life safety codes, standards and practices to operations & technical group departments on existing plant and nonplant facilities, facility modifications and new projects.
3. To lead a multidisciplinary team in safety reviews e.g. Hazop study, Whatif analysis, Cause & effects reviews etc to help determine safety & feasibility of minor facility modifications.
4. To lead a multidisciplinary team in routine and special qualitative risk assessments.
5. To advice to operations & technical group departments on the choice of the most appropriate risk assessment methodologies.
6. To prepare safety review/ risk assessment reports and to provide followup tracking advice.
7. To participate and to occasionally lead Safety audits dealing with company facilities, activities, procedures and IOCL systems to ensure compliance and encourage continuous improvement in company's business processes.
8. To provide technical support & suggestion on all aspects of project HSE Management & implementation.
9. To plan, develop and maintain Emergency Response procedures in order to reduce the risk to personnel, assets and Company reputation.

20002004 Safety & Fire Engineer, Barauni Refinery, IOCL
Barauni Refinery (Begusarai, Bihar) is the second public sector refinery of Indian Oil Corporation, which has received ISO9002 (for quality management system), ISO14001 (for environment management system) and OHSMS accreditation under BS8800. Barauni Refinery has also won the Runner\'s up Golden Peacock Environment Management Award under the large scale enterprises in June' 99, received NPMP Award on excellence in Project Management for "Catalytic Reformer Unit" in April' 99 and inhouse Anil Raj Trophy for the year 19992000 for best improvement in the field of Energy Consumption and Hydrocarbon loss over the previous best performance.
During this time I worked as a sift incharge in the Safety and Fire department of Barauni Refinery. The primary responsibilities included:

2. Attending fire & emergency calls and guiding the fire fighting crew in emergency situations
