Birthday Celebrations
JInstead of focusing celebrations around food, I like your child to be the focal point of the day. Below you will see the options available to celebrate your child’s special day. Please choose one birthday activity. The choice is up to your family. As always the greatest gift you can give your child is the gift of time. Share it with the class!
*Please contact me at least a week before you'd like to come into school to celebrate so an appropriate time can be scheduled into our day!I look forward to sharingyour child's special day with the class!

Birthday Books:
Birthdays are very important in my classroom! I like to celebrate them and I hope that you will be able to join us in the celebration. Here in room120, we will celebrate your child's birthday by using a "birthday book." A family member or special visitor may join our class to read a book of your child's choice. This focuses the celebrationaround the child and his and her guest(s) while creating a very important literacy experience forthe class.
After the book is read, all of the students from the class will sign the book and it will be held in our classroom library for students to read for the remainder of the year. At the end of the school year, each child will bring home his or her "birthday book" to keep. What a wonderful keepsake!

T-Shirt
Have your child bring in a solid colored t-shirt. We will have the class sign their names on the special birthday shirt and they can wear it all day long! J

Craft
Some parentsmay want to create a craft or art project to do with the children. I only ask that the craft be simple and something that can be completed within approximately 20 minutes.
