Who are Cheadle CBT Services?

Cheadle CBT Services is a team of highly qualified and experienced therapists who provide effective, evidence based treatments for a range of psychological disorders.

Although we are a new service, we are an established team who were previously based at the Therapy Services Department at Cheadle Royal Hospital prior to its closure in November 2010. We now operate as an independent provider of CBT and EMDR and are entering a new exciting era with the establishment of our own business.

Cheadle CBT Services is based in Gatley and we have consulting rooms in Helsby. With contractual arrangements we can operate satellite clinics from your own or other suitable premises.

As a team, we have developed a strong reputation throughout the North West for the work we do and the exceptional clinical outcomes we achieve. We have long been the provider of choice for many occupational health departments and independent occupational health physicians.

Why does your company need specialists in Mental Health?

The topic of mental health is moving up the agenda for employers. Growing research demonstrates the importance of mental health and well-being in relation to business efficiency and workforce productivity. Stress, depression and anxiety are presented as common reasons for absence from work.

A mental health related sickness absence of this kind will typically span a 21 day period. Costs to business includes the direct costs, such as sick pay and agency cover for the absent employee, but also the indirect costs incurred from the impact on patient care to the build- up of resentment, low morale and consequential poor performance of those employees remaining in work. This in turn may lead to other absences that then may affect group dynamics and team cohesion. A lack of staff continuity can affect customer and patient relationships, and increase the possibility of patient complaints, missed opportunities and loss of business.

When doctors, nurses and other employees of the National Health Service experience a mental health problem and need to become a patient in mental health services, there are occasions where it is inappropriate for them to be seen by doctors or therapists within their own locality. This is often because the treatment providers are colleagues or friends, or because they may be sat in the same waiting room as some of the patients they themselves treat. This typically introduces concern for the patient around confidentiality and the impact on future working relationships.

The therapists at Cheadle CBT Services have years of experience in dealing with a variety of NHS staff, from porters to surgeons, for a whole range of work and home related mental health issues that may be impacting on their ability to effectively fulfil their job role. We provide fast and effective treatment to keep these employees in work, or help them return to work. We assure patients that their confidentiality is a priority and we are happy to alter appointment and billing procedures to assure the strictest of confidence for this patient group.
