Update on plan for Interpreter training / No update from last meeting - still advancing
Update on plan for 2013-14 Personnel / Susan Brennan has been hired as the new Deafblind Coordinator. She will have an office at home and an office at Iowa Braille School.
ISD hired Bryce Hendricks as an ASL instructor to start this fall. He has been substitute in the past.
They have some viable candidates for other openings.
They are finalizing an agreement with Tara Coder between Vocational Rehabilitation and Iowa School for the Deaf.
Sign language efficiency proficiency (SLPE) person will be able to offer classes for parents (and others) through distance learning
Update on summer programs 2013 / Sports camp this week at ISD has 30 students participating in basketball volleyball & golf.
3 camps scheduled for next month:
IBS will have camp at ISD
One camp for deaf at ISD
One camp for deaf at IBS – 12 students from east side and a few coming from west side.
Continue Operating procedures / Patrick has not had time to work on this since last meeting.
Other / This group will not meet until September, but will meet August 1st in the Knudsen Room at Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm as the Leadership Team.
It was agreed to start meeting on the third Thursday of each month starting in September. Dates and locations are:
