Once you have completed these worksheets produce a leaflet, poster or diagram to illustrate and explain the waste hierarchy: REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE.
Use your diagram to explain where different types of waste fit into the waste hierarchy.

3 / Complete Activity 1 of the Recycool project which involves carrying out further research into mobile phone and printer cartridge recycling.
In your groups find out as much as you can about recycling methods and local recycling services and report your findings in space provided in the logbook. / 3.1
3 / Using the internet and other resources available to you carry out research into the specific regulations surrounding waste disposal and recycling. Include your findings in your logbook. / 3.2
4 / Complete Activities 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the Recycool project. These activities will help you to structure your project and to come up with an effective project plan as well as assigning roles to individual team members and understanding strengths and weaknesses. / 4.1
4 / Carry out the Recycool enterprise project collecting old mobile phones and printer cartridges which you can exchange for cash for your school.
Make sure that you are clear about what the objectives of this project are for your school. For example, do you want to raise a specific amount of cash for your school or are you working towards a given target for the number of mobile phones and printer cartridges that you are aiming to collect?
Why not think about getting local businesses and the wider community involved? The more printer cartridges and mobile phones you collect the more cash you’ll receive for your school.

4 / Complete the evaluation sheets at the end of the logbook. This gives learners the opportunity to reflect on their personal performance as well as the overall success of the project.
Within the suggestions/ideas box learners should make suggestions for improving/encouraging sustainable procurement and waste management in their local community. This could be within the school or college community or the wider community. Learners should make at least THREE suggestions. / 4.2
3 / Now you have completed your Recycool project reflect on how you have contributed positively to the waste hierarchy and how projects like this can help to reduce littering and fly-tipping. Record your thoughts within the evaluation section of your logbook alongside your suggestions for improving sustainable procurement and waste management. / 3.3
