Dear Class of 2014 Member,
Well, here it is, the final days of your Junior Year of high school! It is just a matter of days now until you are the “Senior” class of Quakertown Community High School. With that title come many responsibilities, but also a lot of opportunities for FUN. One of those opportunities is the annual Senior Class Trip to the Orlando area in Florida!
Next year’s trip is tentatively scheduled for June 3 -7, 2014 (dates will be finalized later this week). What a great way to end your senior year than with a trip to the happiest place on Earth with friends and classmates before you all graduate and head off in different directions.
Some trip highlights are:
- Round trip airfare and bus transportation to and from airports and Florida events
- Overnight accommodations in a Disney World hotel with nightly security guards assigned to our school only
- Disney debit cards for breakfast at the hotel and some additional meals
- Three-day hopper pass for Disney World enabling travel back and forth between Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom(you can upgrade your Disney pass to include three visits to a Disney Water Park or DisneyQuest for an extra $15)
- 1-day admission to Universal Studiosand/or Islands of Adventure (you can upgrade your pass to travel between both parks for an extra $18)
- Blue Man Group Show
- Souvenir Trip T-shirt and group photo
- And more…
Many of you have already participated in our fundraisers since sophomore year. Some students already have enough credits to pay for a good portion of their trip. Don’t worry if you haven’t fundraised or haven’t raised very many credits yet, we will have more opportunities to earn credits during your senior year. For example, you can earn credits by working at the outdoor concession stand during fall footballgames. We are also planning several sales throughout the first semester of the school year and will also continue our successful grocery certificate program from September through January. More information will be provided at the start of each fundraiser.
If you still aren’t sure if you want to go on the trip or not, talk to the seniors who went on this year’s trip. They had a wonderful trip and came home with many pictures, memories, and new friends. We think that our trip can be even better with you there. We want the Class of 2014 Senior Trip to be the best trip ever and we want as many people in our class as possible to attend.
The Class of 2014 Senior Trip is scheduled to leave at the end of the school day on TuesdayJune 3, 2014 and return the evening of SaturdayJune 7, 2014. More exact details of the trip will be provided this fall. The starting cost of the trip, before deducting credits, is $1124 per person(not including the park pass upgrades). This price is based on four students to a hotel room. (Fewer students to a room will cost more.) Students who have earned credits will need to pay the difference between this amount and the credits they have earned.
If you are interested in attending the trip, take home this letter to your parents, then fill out and return the attached payment form with your initial $180 deposit to Mr.Sandler (B126) or Ms. Nietz (A122) by FridayJune 14th. Checks should be made payable to “QCHS Class of 2014”. If getting the deposit by Friday is an issue, checks will be accepted at the high school’s main office through the end of June.
