Skincare Party Checklist
In order to get ready for your first party, there will be some things you need to get together to be prepared. Your sponsor or your director(Jill) will be leading your first party for you as you assist and watch. Please make sure you have the following tools ready prior to your 1st party.
1) Go to www.dorothyboyd.com & click on New Consultant Training tab then scroll to bottom where it says in red “Fundamental Skills” and go to Pink Bootcamp # 3 and watch the Skincare class videos you’ll find there. Watch and take notes. This covers everything from class setup; foundation matching to the various parts of the party presentation and individual close. This is a fabulous tool! I’d also suggest watching the dvd that came in your starter kit.
2) Visit our unit website at www.unitnet.com/jilladair (you are here now) and go to New Consultant tab and you will find the tools you need to make copies of before your first parties. You will need: inserts to put in your mirrors under trays (have printed on card stock and laminated- you will have to cut to fit bottom of mirror); 10 copies of hostess flyer & 30 of the closing sheet (one that says for first parties) in color; 10 copies of outside order form; 1 color copy each of the closing sheet with all skincare lines & color set sheet(put these in a sheet protector).
*You can print skincare party script & have it printed or if you’d like a flipchart to put on table to read from at your party see Jill to purchase one.
You can save any of this info to your computer then email to Office Depot @
3) You will also need: cotton balls; headbands; roll of tickets (you can get these at Walmart or Office Max); few fingertip mini spray bottles(Walmart in travel section or Sallys Beauty Supply & few giveaways(your sponsor or director will help you with some giveaways for first party/ then you will need to have a few items on hand to use as giveaways- ie: mini products like travel sized oilfree eye removers; purse-size handcreams or fragrance vials(these are located under sect 2- you can put these in a small cello bag of gift bag w few pieces of hard candy) or you can use eye shadows
4) You will also need your starter kit along with mirrors and facials cloths; profile
Cards; sales tickets; datebook (with dates highlighted for next 3-4 weeks when you are available to hold appts). If you have already made an inventory decision & placed your first order then you will need to pull the following items from your stock: Microderm set, satin lips set; Peach or Fragrance-free satin hands set; foundation primer, brush cleaner; firming eye cream & 2-3 full size blushes to demo from (recommend: Shy blush, cherry blossom, sparkling cider & shy blush). Optional: Botanical cleanser & moisturizer (Normal skin)- so will have something for sensitive skin (you do have a few samples of these included in your kit),
You may also want to pull 3-4 liquid foundation brushes from your inventory for demoing liquid foundations if you chose liquids in your starter kit instead of minerals. Whichever foundation you selected is what you will demo.
Suggested liquid foundations to add to what came in your starter kit (Iv 6 matte; Beige 4, 6 & 7 matte; Beige 3 luminous). You may also want to stock a one of each of the cc creams (Very light, light-med; med-deep & deep
5) Prepare 10 Hostess Packets:
Include Company Hostess brochure(on unitnet site)
1-2 Look books; 1-2 copies of outside order form(on unitnet); your business card (if you have ordered from MK Connections); you can also include a picture of the starter kit
**Be sure to put your contact info on all books your hand out (Look books in Hostess packets and on beauty books which are smaller catalogs that you will put beside their mirror)
6) Have $20 in change in case your guests want to pay with cash.
I’d also suggest setting up your Propay account so you can accept credit/debit cards. There is a $39.99 cost per year plus small processing fee per transaction. But so worth it bc people with buy more if you offer this. If you don’t have the funds yet to pay for ProPay there is a free service called Square Up you can access thru www.squareup.com to allow you to get a card reader for your phone or laptop. This is not a service supported by Mary Kay. If you do decide to get a Mary Kay website and want to accept payment on your website you will have to have Propay. You will also have to have Propay to be eligible to use our Customer Delivery Service program.
**Be sure that you have opened a personal checking account that you use strictly for your
MK business.. you should deposit all product sales here first. You will link this account to
Your Propay account so that when you transfer money it will go there
7) Communication is MOST important! You will want to send invitations and or
Email invites thru the Mary Kay website( under Business Tools- go to party planner) for all your parties. There is also an editable invite for your debut on the unitnet website under New Consult tab and one for your future parties under Training Center under Skincare Party) Plus, you will want to CALL/text your guests at least 3 days before the party to remind and preprofile to find out their skintype and specific needs & concerns. Make sure you ask your hostess to get you the guest list within 3 days of booking her party~ not 3 days before her party! The guest list Is KEY! If you don’t have a list & you don’t make phone calls before the party, chances are you will not end up holding that party.
8) You will need to have table space enough for the # of guests that rsvp. Its
Difficult to do facials holding a mirror on your lap. If you don’t have enough
Table space, consider tv trays or setting up a few card tables. Be sure to discuss setup with your sponsor or if one of your first parties then discuss with your hostess.
