Upcoming GPR/eSource maintenance event
The Georgia Procurement Registry (GPR)/eSource application suite is being moved to new servers beginning Friday 10/17/2014 through Sunday 10/19/2014. Below is some further information concerning this important event.
What is the project?
The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) will be consolidating production, test and developmental servers to the North Atlanta Data Center (NADC). Consolidation and virtualization will enable the State to reduce the number of servers being supported.
The Department of Administrative Services will be moving these applications to newer servers having more processing and storage capacity. The new servers will have numerous redundancy features to provide protected power, cooling, and networking as well as measures for physical and data security beyond what currently exists.
What are the benefits to the Agency and its Customers?
The new servers are more powerful, and have more data storage capacity, and there will be additional physical and network security mechanisms in place to protect electronic bidding and award data.
What is the exact timeframe of the maintenance event?
The systems will be taken offline at 5:15 PM Friday 10/17/2014, and are expected to return to service Monday morning 10/20/2014 at 6:00 AM. Agency staff will be involved throughout the weekend performing all the maintenance and testing tasks necessary to ensure successful completion.
This only affects eSource and GPR applications, Team Georgia Marketplace Employee and Bidder & Supplier Portal will be completely available to all users without any impact of server consolidation project maintenance schedule.
