CONSTITUTION
Society Name
The Society name is The Buying Agency Golf Society (TBAGS).
Membership
Membership is open to anybody who embraces the spirit of golf, at the discretion of the committee and subject to a maximum of 24 members, on payment of the annual subscription. Members are strongly encouraged to wear TBAGS kit at all TBAGS events.
Officers
A committee elected by majority vote at the AGM, to be held each October, will manage TBAGS. The officers are: Chairman, Captain, Competitions Secretary, Fixture Secretary, Handicap Secretary, Treasurer & Vice Captain. The Competitions Committee consists of the Chairman, Competitions Secretary, and Captain.
Finances
Subscription levels will be agreed at the AGM. Funds will be dispersed as per the wishes of the members and managed by the committee.
Fixtures
There will be regular fixtures from January onwards, including an annual tour, until the AGM in October. There will also be a Christmas fixture.
Competitions
During the season there will be ongoing CHAIRMAN’S CHALLENGE, CAPTAIN’S KNOCK OUT & TBAGS' PAIRS competitions, and on AGM day a competition for the PRESIDENT'S PUTTER. The rules for all competitions are on the website. From time to time the Captain may enter a TBAGS team in local competitions.
Guests
Guests are welcome, at the discretion of the Committee and subject to the overall maximum of 24 golfers at any fixture, with members having priority to play over guests. Guests do not compete in TBAGS' competitions and are ineligible for TBAGS' prizes.
Other rules
All other rules are as per the rules of golf as published by the R&A.
Insurance
Members should note that they are not insured by TBAGS.
HANDICAP RULES
The Handicap Secretary will set & adjust handicaps in accordance with the EGU & CONGU handicapping rules. Revised handicaps will be notified to members & copied to the Captain as soon as practicable, usually by e-mail, and published & updated on the TBAGS website, and will apply immediately.
Where a member also has a club handicap, the member will play all TBAGS competitions off the lower of the two.
