4/07 POLICE MATTERS

a. Insp Richard Smith gave a crime update for the area and agreed to process the concerns of the members in respect of the continuing unsocial behaviour in the Codnor area. The latter included, smashing of disabled toilet door, trip wire across recreational ground entrance, large groups of young people congregating outside the Jessop Arms, Insp Smith to look into placing a CCTV camera temporarily to view activity around the Clock Building.

b. Members thanked the police for their attendance and assistance with traffic at the Carols around the Tree event held 19th December 2006.

5/07 MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING

The minutes of the meeting held on 11th December 2006 were accepted and signed.

6/07 CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

a. Tree Warden - A replacement Tree Warden to be sought.

RESOLVED that the Clerk place advertisement in Ripley & Heanor newspaper and on noticeboards.

ACTION: Members to inspect and report back to Derbyshire County Council.

8/07 ENVIRONMENT

(a) Clock Building

i. Members discussed vandalism to disabled toilet door. New door required with radar lock.

RESOLVED that the Clerk obtain quotes for replacement door and radar lock.

ii. Due to a fault in one of the toilet cisterns, plumbing work is required to restore water supply to toilets.

RESOLVED that the Clerk arrange for plumber to rectify water supply.

(b) Parish Warden – Members agreed to supply Parish Warden with mobile phone due to lone working.

RESOLVED that the Clerk to purchase a mobile phone.

(c) Christmas Lights – Members accepted the invoice from Harlite for the supply of Christmas lights, tree and call-outs for 2006.

RESOLVED: Invoice for £8065.82 to be paid.

9/07 MEMBERS REPORTS

Cllr C Emmas-Williams informed members that a draft programme of works to be carried out on Codnor Castle had been received by Environmental Services. All works are proposed to be completed by January 2008.

10/07 CORRESPONDENCE

(a) AVBC – Local Election Compact for Amber Valley – members to discuss at meeting to be held 12th February 2007.

(b) Youth Bus – Advisory Group Meeting Minutes held 21.09.06 and agenda for meeting to be held 18th January 2007. Clerk to attend.

(c) DCC – Re-organisation of Probation Services – Members discussed privatisation proposal and agreed to respond with letter of objection.

RESOLVED that Cllr C Cox draft letter to Probation Service raising objection to proposal. Clerk to forward.

(d) AVBC Funding form for “Concerts in the Community” – Members agreed £150 be requested to cover cost of the Belper Town Wind Band booked for the Codnor Fun Day, July 2007.

RESOLVED that the Clerk complete and return form.
