Registered Nurse – Intellectual Disability Service (Medium Secure Unit)
Wakari Hospital, Dunedin
  • Permanent, part time, 0.5 FTE – 20 hours per week
  • There is also a 1 FTE position open – 40 hours per week
We are looking for experienced Intellectual Disability, Mental Health or Comprehensive Registered Nurses to join our supportive multidisciplinary team. You will be an enthusiastic Registered Nurse with a range of skills and the ability to work effectively with a large team to a high standard of practice. To be successful in this role you must be enthusiastic and positive with exceptional communication skills, you will also have a passion for supporting people from admission to discharge.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills on a shift by shift basis. You will be working alongside patients in a complex environment to meet their identified needs in a multi-disciplinary setting. The emphasis is on the delivery of safe client focused care in an ever changing dynamic setting.
The role encompasses the acute care of patients recently admitted as well as the continuing care and rehabilitation of patients with complex needs. You will work closely with the Charge Nurse Manager, Associate Charge Nurse and the Clinical Nurse Specialist.
