SENATE RESOLUTION
In Memory
of
Roland Richard Kautz
WHEREAS, The death of Roland Richard Kautz of Taylor, Texas,
on April 16, 1993, at the age of 78, was deeply mourned by the
residents of the city; and
WHEREAS, A respected and beloved member of his community,
Mr. Kautz will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his
friends, his church, and the citizens of Taylor; and
WHEREAS, Born in the Noack community on June 17, 1914, to
Emil J. and Augusta Meiske Kautz, Roland Kautz was a retired farmer
and had lived in the Taylor area all of his life; and
WHEREAS, He married Ella Nora Zimmerman on November 10, 1936,
and the devoted couple provided a loving home for their children,
Yvonne and Wallace; and
WHEREAS, Actively involved in the civic life of Taylor,
Mr. Kautz was a member of SPJST and the Sons of Hermann Lodges
and the Taylor Dance Club; and
WHEREAS, A devout Christian gentleman, he was a lifetime
member of Saint Paul Lutheran Church where he served as a vestryman
and was a member of the building committee; and
WHEREAS, He leaves a legacy of compassion and commitment
that will remain cherished by those who lived and worked with him;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
73rd Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the members
of his family: his wife, Ella Nora; his daughter and soninlaw,
Yvonne and Jerry Graham; his son and daughterinlaw, Wallace G.
and Joan Kautz; his sisters, Evelyn Birkelbach and Leona Miertschin;
his brother, Gilbert Kautz; and his six grandchildren and two
greatgrandchildren; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
the Texas Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
so in memory of Roland Richard Kautz.
