This is a field trip organized and led by K-State faculty to support IAPD and the curriculum. Student will be responsible for the fee (lodging, travel expenses, food, additional fees for admittance to events) to attend the field trip. It will be paid to IAPD Student Council.

Purpose and Activities
The purpose of the field trip is to expose students to firms, manufacturers,company headquarters and networking opportunities in Chicago/Grand Rapids area.

A preliminary list of sites include: Haworth, Steelcase, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Mayer May House, Merchandise Mart, Gensler, Box Studios, Perkins & Will, Tems Design.

Dates and Schedule
The field trip officially begins at 7:00 am on Monday, September 19, 2016 and ends at 5:00 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2016. Students are expected to participate during all scheduled activities and present themselves and IAPD in a professional manner.

Lodging
Students will be staying at the LaQuinta on S. Franklin in Chicago. There will be no exceptions for lodging accommodations. Room assignments will be given prior to the departure date.

Academic Accommodations for Students with Disabilities
Should you need any special type of accommodation in order to participate in this field trip, including academic learning accommodations, physical accommodations, and dietary or medical accommodations, please notify faculty (Donna or Steve) as soon as possible. We will work with Disability Support Services () to best accommodate your needs. DSS serves students with a wide range of disabilities including, but not limited to, physical disabilities, sensory impairments, learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, depression, and anxiety. Cost estimates
IAPD does their very best to keep expenses at a minimum. You can expect that the student cost will between $400-$600. Payment will be made to IAPD Student Council via check. If a student is considering financial assistance for this trip, they must meet with their Academic Advisor.

There are no reimbursements or partial payment if you cancel, arrive late, or depart early from the trip. If you fail to notify us of non-participation by (three months prior) you will still be required to pay program fee.

Additional Information

A detailed itinerary and more information about the trip will be provided prior to the trip to the students. The scheduled events will take place regardless of the weather. Please dress business professional and wear appropriate walking shoes.
