Nitish has coached all levels of athletes, including juniors and espoirs. He approaches coaching in a very scientific manner with a keen eye for details. Several of his athletes have had success at the state and national levels. Nitish is a USA Cycling Coach and USA Cycling Race Mechanic. By optimizing logistics, machine, body, and mind, he brings about the best of himself and his athletes.

Nitish is currently completing a triple major at the University of California Berkeley in Molecular and Cell Biochemistry, Nutritional Physiology and Metabolism and Integrative Biology with an emphasis on Kinesiology. He also performs research in 2 labs at UC Berkeley, studying how lactate is metabolized in the body during exercise in the Brooks lab and researching the mechanisms of aging in the Hellerstein lab. Prior to his scientific research at UC Berkeley, Nitish worked in three other cutting edge biotech companies.

Nitish is a pro mountain bike racer. In 2005, when the only junior/U23 development teams in Northern California were road focused, Nitish developed the NRL Racing Team (nrlracing.org). NRL was initially mountain bike focused, but now competes in all aspects of bike racing, and has further diversified into other activities such as climbing, backpacking and more. The NRL Racing Team continues its legacy today, motivating aspiring riders to reach their best. In addition to competing for NRL, Nitish is an officer and competes for the Cal Cycling Team (calcycling.org) in both road and mountain collegiate disciplines, earning the Most Valuable Cyclist by his sophomore year with a silver medal in the overall elite omnium for the WCCC in 2008.

Highly involved in the cycling community, Nitish developed the Rule Book for the NorCal High School Mountain Bike Racing League, which now is transforming into the National Interscholastic Cycling Association. He founded 3 high school teams during his high school career, including the Oakland Composite Team, the Fremont Composite Team and the American High School Cycling Team.

Nitish does not limit his activities to bike racing. Exploring into the outdoors is one of his fundamental pleasures via climbing, backpacking, snowboarding, kayaking and more…He gained the distinction of “Outdoor Idol,” an industry-wide award for the top 10 inspirational outdoor athletes. He is also an Outdoor Nation Ambassador (outdoornation.org), helping to get youth involved in a healthy and active lifestyle. Nitish also has a National Outdoor Leadership School (nols.edu) certification in Trip Leading and is a Leave No Trace (lnt.org) instructor. Prior to bike racing Nitish fought nationally and was an instructor in the martial arts, earning a 2nd dan Black Belt in 2004.
