(but may be required to go to other Clanrye Group sites.
Job Overview: / Clanrye Positive Directions offers a training and employability programme for people with disabilities. The key areas of this role are to source, secure and monitor work placements, negotiate and secure suitable employment opportunities and other progression routes for participants of the programme.

DUTIES

Employability & Training
To carry out Rickter/Outcome Star or in house assessments to measure soft outcomes at the start, middle and end of the programme and input data to the Rickter Information Management System.
To work on a one-to-one basis with participants providing advice and support with job searching, completing application forms, CV development and preparation for interviews.
To collaborate with the Employability Tutor in the delivery of an accredited employability qualification.
To carry out training reviews in conjunction with tutors.
To design and implement an effective job club.
Work Placements/Social Enterprise Activities
To liaise with staff to establish participants’ skills and strengths in preparation for a work placement/social enterprise opportunity.
To source and set up work placements matched to participants’ needs and aspirations. Also tosupport, monitor and review work placements. To accurate and efficiently complete the relevant paperwork.
To negotiate paid employment opportunities with work placement provider if appropriate.
To promote and encourage participants to undertake social enterprise activities.
Maintain employer database of existing and new employers.
Progression
To identify suitable progression routes for participants ie, employment, Further Education, volunteering, other training/programmes etc. and progress participants accordingly.
To establish relationships with key personnel on other programmes available and deemed suitable for participants to progress to.
Encourage new employment opportunities with new and existing public sector / government bodies to put in place a Disability Action Plan (DAP) so that participants can avail of suitable work placements and employment opportunities.
Liaise with FE Colleges and other training organisations to ensure participants are informed and progressed onto courses once they have finished at Clanrye Group.
To Liaise with employment agencies/employability programmes to progress participants if deemed the most suitable progression route.
Provide careers advice and guidance.
Identify gaps/additional training needs required to progress individuals.
PR & Marketing Activities
To develop a comprehensive marketing campaign focused on increasing employer participation to include the organising of employer seminars/events with the aim of making employers aware of the capability of individuals with a disability.
To be knowledgeable on benefits entitlements and to foster strong working relationships with professionals to include job advisers, Citizens Advice Bureau, Advice NI and other stakeholders.
Attend external events that focus on employability particularly those with disabilities at local and regional level.
In conjunction with tutors, organise events/workshops/enrichment activitieswhich will add value to participant progress and enhance employability.
Foster strong relationships with the private, public and voluntary sector and avail of their expertise in relation to employability.
Assist with all aspects of Marketing and PR for Clanrye Group.
General
To work effectively with all PD staff to ensure the best possible outcome for each participant.
Update participants’ individual training plans with employability/activities relating to progression.
Maintain a confidential and effective system for processing and maintaining all internal documentation.
To review with Programme Manager outcomes against performance targets and reflect on practice to ensure targets are met if not exceeded.
Ensure ESF and other funder’s requirements are documented as per their rules and regulations.
Participate in personal training and development opportunities to ensure that professional competence is maintained.
Any other duty which may reasonably be required from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

A Level 3 qualification in a related discipline.
A third level qualification would be desirable.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

1 year’s experience in a similar role.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

Ability to negotiate and liaise at all levels and in particular employers.
Empathy with people with disabilities.
Ability to co-ordinate, evaluate and support work placements, volunteering, training and employment opportunities.
Customer service focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Good administration and organisation skills with ability to work collaboratively and using own initiative.
Computer literate with good working knowledge of the MS office suite.
Full clean driving licence.
