Tuck Everlasting

Choose one of the following projects:

1. Create a diorama from an important scene in the book. You may choose Winnie’s house, Tuck’s house, the Forster forest, the jail or any other scene you felt was integral to the story. Write a paragraph about your scene and explain why you chose the scene.

2. Create an alphabet book for important characters, events and items in the story. Each page must include the letter of the alphabet with a meaningful word, a drawing and an explanation of how it relates to the story.

For example

A is for August :

August is the time of year Winnie’s adventure with the Tuck’s took place.

3. Create a board game based on the events in Tuck Everlasting. Decorate a game board with scenes of the story. The game board must include events from the story. Such as: “Hear the elf music. Move ahead two spaces.” Or “Horse is stolen. Lose a turn.” Don’t forget to include markers for the players and a way for the players to move around the game board. Be sure to write rules on how to play the game you created.

4. Create Winnie’s Diary. Show at least 12 entries that show important events for Winnie and her adventures in the story. The story was created based on a story about a girl that lived from 1870-1948. She was 10 years old and the story took place in August, the diary should reflect this. Be sure to create a cover and that you write the diary in first person.

5. Create a memory box. You must place ten objects for your memory box that are significant to the book in some way. Some suggestions might be a brooch, a plastic frog, or a bottle of water. Be sure to include a written explanation for each item you put in the box and why it was included. Do not include anything valuable or inappropriate for school. You can include a photograph, but this shouldn’t be a collection of photos of people in the book (they should be objects.)

Students are graded on the project and presenting their project to the class. Please be sure you are prepared to turn in and present the project by the due date given.

The project is worth a total of 100 points.
