ELA

Monday – April 11
Large Group / The students will identify the letter “Ee” and its sound using the Project Read 8 steps.
Handwriting / The students will trace a glued letter (Ee) while producing its sound. The students will practice writing the upper and lower-case Ee.
ABC Center / The students will review the sequence of the alphabet while touching the letters on the alphabet strip. Using the alphabet arc, the students will sequence the letters correctly.
Phonological/Phonemic
& Reading / The students will hear and identify the final sound in familiar words. Students will match objects together that have the same ending sound.
Fine Motor/Computers / Students will use their fine motor skills to make the letter Ee with play dough. Students will have play dough mats to check their work and match the play dough with the letter.
Tuesday – April 12
Large Group / The students will learn to recognize letter (Ee) in the context of their names and familiar words.
Handwriting / The students will practice forming the letter “Ee” on felt paper while producing its sound. The students will practice letter formation by writing upper- and lowercase letters on handwriting paper.
ABC Center / Students will identify letter Ee by looking in magazines and circling the letter Ee when found.
Phonological/Phonemic
& Reading / The students will hear and identify the initial sound in familiar words. Students will match objects together that have the same beginning sound.
Fine Motor/Computers / The students will engage in a variety of developmentally appropriate activities using the computer. (Starfall & LexiaCore 5).
Wednesday – April 13
Large Group / The students will blend sounds to identify a word. Teacher will put word into a sentence for word meaning. Letter Sounds: /e/, /g/ (egg)
Handwriting / The students will form “Ee” in salt while producing its sound. The students will recognize and write familiar words that begin and end with Ee.
ABC Center / Students will use fishing poles to catch a magnetic alphabet letter. Students will identify and produce the sound of the letter. Students will write a word that begins with that letter and produce a sentence using that word.
Phonological/Phonemic & Reading / The students will clap and count the syllables in their names, as well as in familiar words. Students will choose a picture card and count the syllables in the word.
Fine Motor/Computers / The students will strengthen fine motor skills using play dough and tools.

ELA

Thursday – April 14
Large Group / The students will finger spell a word to segment its sounds for spelling. The students will use the letters that capture those sounds to build the word.
Handwriting / The students will write a sentence using a word that starts with the letter E. Students will then draw a picture illustrating their sentence.
ABC Center / The students will develop word formation skills by arranging magnetic letters to match CVC word cards. Students will write the words they built on lined paper.
Phonological/Phonemic & Reading / The students will listen to and repeat rhyming words.
Fine Motor/Computers / The students will engage in a variety of developmentally appropriate activities using the computer. (Starfall & LexiaCore 5).
Friday – April 15
Large Group / The students will review the letter “Ee” and its sound using the Project Read 8 steps.
Handwriting / The students will practice writing words that begin with “E” on handwriting paper.
ABC Center / The students will develop word formation skills by arranging magnetic letters to match word cards.
Phonological/Phonemic & Reading / The students will segmentawordintophonemes. Students will move a manipulative for each sound they hear in the word.
Fine Motor/Computers / The students will engage in a variety of developmentally appropriate activities using the computer. (Starfall & LexiaCore 5)

Monday – April 11
Students will identify and discuss animals that live in the ocean. Students will produce drawings about their favorite ocean animals.
Tuesday – April 12
Students will identify and look at pictures of animals that live in the ocean. Key Vocabulary: dolphin, whale, fish, crab, shrimp, seashell, octopus, water, sand, and waves.
Wednesday – April 13
Students will create a class graph about their favorite ocean animal.
Thursday – April 14
Students will write a short story about an ocean animal using beginning, middle, and end. Pictures will be used to help describe and illustrate the student’s story.
Friday – April 15
Given objects from the classroom, students will predict which items will sink and float in water. Students will learn through this experiment the difference between ocean animals swimming and objects that float and sink.
